A dead silence played in the atmosphere as they all turned their faces away like Jake did not just speak to them. How were they supposed to afford such an expensive meal when they could barely raise money for their tuition fee? It's crazy how they were all bullying Miles earlier when they weren't any better than him. At least, that was when he was still poor.

"I don't have anything on me. I'm broke," Jess's friend was the first to quickly speak up as she scratched the back of her head, and the murderous glare that Jake threw at her was enough to kill her if look could actually kill.

"Didn't you say you have a rich boyfriend?" Jake scoffed unbelievably.

"I was just trying to make myself feel good," She muttered. Her voice was so low that Jake could barely hear, but still, he scoffed.

Furthermore, he turned to Jess who quickly turned her face away and bit her bottom lip.

"I'm sorry... I don't have anything on me. I was waiting for Leo to send me the money he promised me," She
