Chapter 88

Christian was the owner of the Oleander casino. At the moment, only a handful of Christian’s men were present in the casino because of its non-operational status. Christian sat on a high chair with fifty muscular men dressed in black behind him. He spoke to Gilbert, who was about two meters away.

“We meet again, Mr. Huxley,” Christian said, laughing as he fiddled with the strap of his gold watch. Despite his situation, Gilbert maintained a serious face.

He pondered, “I didn’t make many enemies in Riverfall City.”

“I was still worried that my nemesis, Odom, might be after me. Now that I know it’s Christian, I feel safer.”

Noticing Gilbert’s silence, Christian asked in a haughty tone, “I told you I would give you a day to think about it, Mr. Huxley. Did you think I was joking? Or do you believe that, simply because you know Mr. Kane, I am incapable of harming you?”
