“Um, please, be quiet.” A middle-aged officer asked Gilbert Huxley, “Where were you between eleven and midnight last night?”

“At the casino,” Gilbert answered honestly.

“What were you doing there?” The middle-aged officer followed up immediately, not allowing Gilbert time to think.

“I was short on money, so I went to try my luck,” Gilbert replied without missing a beat.

The Oleander Casino was closed yesterday. “How did you try your luck there?” the officer scowled.

“That’s why I left,” Gilbert replied calmly, just as before.

The middle-aged officer frowned and looked at Gilbert for a few seconds. Gilbert’s calm demeanor surprised him.

“The victim, Christian Luiz, died while you were at the casino. Therefore, you are the prime suspect. Do you have anything to say about this matter?" The officer frowned and turned on the recording device.

“No.” However, Gilbert only whispered one word.
