128: Death

Liam staggered backward and bumped into a wall when the doctor removed the white counterpane, revealing Sinclair's dead body.

It felt like a dream to him as he watched everything unfolding right before his eyes.

Liam's throat tightened with several emotions that it felt like his world was falling apart.

His heart rose in his chest and slammed against his ribcage as his knees gave out underneath him and he dropped to the floor.

He could barely feel anything. He felt totally numb while he was still processing things until something struck him hard like a bolt of lightning.

For a few seconds, he forgot what it felt like to have air flow freely into someone's lungs.

His mouth parted so he could catch his breath, but he used it for something else.

"No!" Liam's cry was enough to shred down walls as his large body trembled along with him.

"He's not dead, dammit!" Liam jammed his fist into his palm.
