135: Seeing Him Off

"Sign here," Avery instructed and Liam obliged, still it was a struggle to get his signature on the paper since his hands were still in cuffs.

"And here," she pointed at the far end of the document, and Liam signed.

"It's all set," she said.

"All set," Liam repeated after her. It was a document Avery had created overnight, something that legally involved Liam passing his rights over to her to take his place while he was away. A few other people at the Price Enterprise had already signed earlier before Avery arrived at the police station.

Liam handed the documents back to Avery. And when she took it from him, she didn't back away. She held his gaze for some time.

Her face was frigid like an iceberg but her eyes betrayed her. Liam could see the way tears were threatening to take over, and at the same time, she kept blinking.

Gibson shoved a piece of paper into Liam's hands and then stepped backward.
