149: Back From Prison (II)

Avery was having a hangover the next morning because she drank more than half of a liquor bottle. She groaned as she rose from the bed because the harsh morning sun was penetrating through the windows and adding weight to her migraine.

"I thought about Liam to the extent I dreamed of him," she yawned and stretched at the same time.

It was a Friday morning, and already past 10 AM when she stared at the wall clock.

"Shit," she hissed under her breath as she dashed into the bathroom to wash up.

Ten minutes later, she rushed out wearing a bathrobe as she proceeded to blow-dry her hair.

"I'll bet those bastards are cooking something up this time," Avery spoke to her reflection in her dressing mirror.

"And Liam hasn't even written back to me. It's been four days since I sent him that letter. I wonder what's wrong with him."

Someone knocked on her door, and upon thinking it was a maid, she permitted the door to be opened.

In came a strange man, wearing an apron.

"Who are you?" Avery frowned
