33 His Wife Didn't Come Home
"Where's Shirley?" asked Ciko when Marcel arrived home.

"Didn't she tell you?" said Marcel as he opened his jacket.

"If Shirley told me, why would I ask you?" said Ciko with the water hose held up to Marcel's face.

"She's on holiday," Marcel replied matter-of-factly. "But I don't know where she's holidaying and with whom."

Ciko nodded.

"Wash my car," he ordered. "I took it to the beach yesterday and it got rained on. You wash it again, and then you can eat."

Marcel, still tired from work, looked at his brother-in-law and prepared to refuse.

"What?" challenged Ciko, who noticed Marcel's rejection.

"I just got back from work, at least let me drink first." Marcel tried to bargain.

"Who are you to bargain now?" scolded Ciko as he whipped Marcel's arm with the hose.

"It's not like that ..." Marcel pretended to grimace in pain. "Mr Aldi has been contacting me for the past few days and I feel like someone is following me ... That's why I need to get home quickly."
