“You cannot pass.” The firm voice of a vampire guard washed away the excitement in David’s eyes.

“Why?” David was totally bewildered at the moment.

“Well it’s not safe outside.” The Vampire guard replied in a stern voice.

At this moment, David felt like this had to be unfair. After all, it has always been dangerous outside so why did they have to restrict him from going outside today?

When he saw the smoke up in the sky while he was in the house he rushed outside out of curiosity with an attempt to go outside the walls of the Blood city only to be restricted from going outside by the guard. Of course his reasons for going outside was because he was curious to see what was the cause of the smoke rising up above the sky.

It was not only him, there were other people just like him trying to go through the city walls but the vampire guards stood like an unmovable wall blocking their paths.
