“What?” William couldn’t hide his stupefaction when he heard what Charles just said.

His sudden word instantly caught Clark’s attention causing him to raise his head. Clark could tell that William and Charles were currently having a conversation but what they were talking about he did not know, however, since he could only hear William it was hard to make out anything from William’s words only.

“You want me to become your family’s heir?”

“What?!” This time it was Clark turn to get stunned.

“Yes I do.” Charles nodded confirming what he had said.

“But how’s that possible?” William asked.

He was not born into the Morgan family. He was a nobody and from the look of things the Morgan family was a very big family. Besides this is the first time he’s actually hearing about a family having their martial arts.

There’s just no way that a nobody like him can suddenly become the heir of a big family like that.

“Did the Young master just say he wants to make you the Morgan’s family heir?” Clark asked with a bewildered expression.

Seeing the confused expression of Mr Clark, William confirmed that as he had thought such a thing like making him the heir of  the Morgan family was simply too hard or impossible.

“That’s impossible and even if it was possible how does it benefit you by making me become the heir to your family?” William asked.

Charles smiled at the fact that William perception of things were sharp. “Well the benefit I get all come down to one word…Revenge.”

***

Charles Morgan was a handsome man that had everything.

It would be right to say that the world was his birthright. As the heir to the Morgan family he was given the upmost respect he deserved. His title was enough to give him such respect but the respect the family gave him came more from the fact he was a  principled man.

He wasn’t necessarily a kind person but people saw him as one.  Charles was a man who did good to those who did him good and did bad to those who did him bad so just as everyone saw him as a kind man they also knew he was ruthless.

His father Henry Morgan had just past away due to old age and as the first son of the Morgan family it was his right to carry the touch as the head of the family.

Charles had a junior brother, Jason who did almost everything with him. Everyone knew they were inseparable. They both ate together and went to war together against rival families. Their bond was the ideal brotherhood.

Not too long after their father died a few days later it was expected for Charles to be the next head of the Morgan family, however, things didn’t end up as planned.

Charles and his brother were ambushed by one of their rival families which caused Charles death. Jason survived the ambush by pure luck with a lot of injuries that may have resulted to his death and if not for the fast treatment given to him by the family he would definitely have died.

It was a very sad news that fell on the Morgan’s family to lose a good man such as Charles. It angered the family so much that till this day they still seek revenge against the rival family responsible for Charles’s death.

However, that was what everyone thought. Charles Morgan was murdered by the rival family but the truth was so much far from that.

Charles was actually murdered by Jason. A truth so shocking to the world. Even Charles was shocked in his time of death. It caused him a lot of pains. The fact that he was betrayed by his brother he was ready to die for made him heartbroken.

Charles wanted nothing more than revenge even in death but he was the loser. He was already dead so there was nothing he could do.

There are many beliefs about what happens when someone dies. Some belief stated  that when someone dies they ceased to exist. Other beliefs were that when someone dies they either go to heaven or hell depending on the kind of life they had lived on earth. However, the most common belief was what happened to Charles and that is when someone dies their ghost lives on.

Now what is a ghost? It is a person in the spirit and not the flesh. Waking up as a Ghost with all his memories Charles wanted to still deal with his brother but the number one flaw of a ghost was that they couldn’t interact with the real world.

Not being able to interact with the real world made Charles pissed.  He became a roaming ghost. The lack of communication with the world gave him a hellish experience.

Charles had always known the world was wicked but after dying he clearly saw how wicked the world was.

Like any normal day while roaming the street as a ghost because he was tired of being in the privileged area of Hilton city, he stumbled upon a wicked act about to take place in the alleyway.

It was not his first time witnessing an assassination as a ghost so he never bothered to stay and try to interfere. As a ghost who could go through things he went right through all the bodyguards but when he was about to go through William something shocking happened.

His Vision blurred for a second and then.

“What?”

He could feel pain and he was lying on the floor.

“How did I get to the floor?”

The huge man walked towards him almost as if he could see him. He was still stupefied by all that was going on because everything felt different. There were lot of questions on his mind but his question got answered when he saw his reflection through a water on the ground.

‘What…I am the young man…’

This was a phenomenal that has never happened before but there was no time to process what was going on. Since he was in this young man’s body he can’t let him die!

It was then Charles did what he needed to do to save William.

After saving William, he was ejected out of his body.

And also to his surprise only William could see and hear him.

It was as if God had given him a miracle. Right then and there he decided in his mind that William was his ticket to his revenge.

***

Clark was totally shocked.

“You mean young master Jason murdered young master Charles?” Clark still couldn’t believe it.

No one would. Clark saw the two brothers growing up so he could tell that they could die for each other. Everyone knew this but young master Charles won’t lie. Come to think about it after the death of young master Charles, Jason was the one who benefited more from this. With young master Charles dead it makes him the only heir to the Morgan’s family fortunes.

Jason was the one who gained more from the demise of Charles than the rival family been blamed for it.

Clark heart bled when he thought about it logically. To be stabbed in the back by his own brother…Clark tried to imagine the pain his young master would be going through in his death and felt pity.

“I understand my Young master wants revenge and making you heir to the Morgan fortune would be a perfect revenge but how does he intends we go about it?”

William had the same question on his mind so he looked at Charles.

“Simple. Power Transfer.” Charles said.

“Power Transfer?”

“Did master Charles just say power transfer?!” Clark asked in a rush. It was almost as if the word that William said out loud carried more weight.

Was there a way to transfer power from a big family like that to a poor person like him?

“What is it about this power transfer?” William asked even if he could tell the meaning from the words itself.

“Power transfer is an important term in the Morgan family only those carrying the blood of the Morgan family knows about it.” Clark started explaining with a sigh. “I should not know about it but I was very close friends with Charles’s father so he trusted me a lot to share things like this with me. This bloodline of the Morgan was never the real Morgan family.”

“I don’t understand?” William asked confused.

“The real Morgan Family 300 years ago never had an heir so one of Charles great grandfathers was such an excellent servant that he was made the families heir but in doing so they didn’t want to take too much risk. They feared that their new family’s heir descendants might not meet up to the standards of the Morgan family so they placed a law which said that the head of the family had the right to transfer his title to anybody not belonging to the bloodline of the family if he sees it fit.”

Hearing the explanation, William understood all Clark just said but…

“How does that affect the situation in making me an heir? I thought your brother is the new heir. He won’t transfer his title to a nobody just like that.”

Charles smiled. “You are right. That’s why I will be the one transferring my title.”

“But you are dead?”

“Yes. With your help even in death I can transfer ownership.”

Clark was so puzzled and agitated to get the full scope of what William and his young master was saying so he asked with impatience.

“What’s the young master saying?”

“He said he can transfer the heir of the family to me even in death.”

Clark eyes shook with confusion when he heard what William said. “How can he do that if he’s dead? That kind of transfer requires a document containing Master Charles signature, his print and his blood.”

“Exactly.” Charles agreed from his lonely world. “Clark has my prints and blood the only thing left here is my signature.”

“He says you has his prints and blood.” William said looking at Clark.

“Yes I do. But to do that we need his sig-“ Clark finally realized the point his young Master was trying to get at. “Master Charles can possess your body right?”

“Ye-…Now I understand what he’s trying to say. We can do the transfer.”

With Charles’s blood and print in Clark possession along with the fact that he could take over Williams body the power transfer didn’t seem impossible anymore.

“So now Mr Axton.” Charles looked at William. “What do you want in return for helping me?”

William had a resilient gaze as he gave his reply. “Don’t worry I already have what I need”

Power and fortune was what he needed. As the heir of the Morgan family he will get the power to take his daughter away and make those who tried to kill him pay.

As if he could read William’s mind Charles smiled slightly.
