Inside the classroom, their curious eyes shifted from Dana, Jerome, and then Finn who just sat there, staring at the book in front of him like he didn't just see his girlfriend kissing another man.

They all knew about Finn and Dana’s long relationship. But they didn't know they had broken up

Finn tried not to care even though he felt disgusted.

Last night wasn’t the first time he’d delivered condoms to Jerome. In fact, it was the sixth—each time for a different woman. And who knows how many more times Jerome had actually remembered to bring protection himself?

He found Dana pathetic being with someone like Jerome. She must feel so proud, but ignorant.

Jerome grabbed her waist with a smirk and was about to take her out of the room, but she immediately said, “Love, wait, there's something I need to return to Finn.”

Finn turned his gaze toward Dana.

She walked toward him and slammed something on his desk in front of him. Then she removed her hand.

“I think this belongs to you.”

It was an iPhone 12.

“I don't want anything trash around me anymore,” Dana continued with a frown.

Finn stared at the phone he bought for Dana as a present. She had wanted it and he was finally able to get it for her after undergoing a lot of part-time jobs. She was so happy that it was worth it.

“Look at this, Finn, take a look,” Dana flaunted a brand new phone in Finn’s line of sight. “Jerome got a larger model, iPhone 15 Pro with a price of more than a thousand dollars which is obviously much better than this old junk you gave me. See? Shouldn't you be ashamed of yourself?”

Jerome scoffed, and added, “What do you expect from a low-life like him, baby? Someone who saved up half a year just to buy this cheap phone for you is an utter nobody! Totally unworthy of my love.”

“Awww,” the class said in unison.

Dana blushed. “I know, love. That’s why I dumped him. Anyway, enough of this. I've given you back what I owe you, Finn. I owe you nothing now…”

In a blink of an eye, Finn got off his chair as he grabbed the phone, and threw it against the wall, startling Dana. She flinched, gasping in shock, her heart skipping a beat.

The phone smashed on impact, and Finn glared at Dana who was looking at him, nervous.

“Everything you owe me, really? You're lucky I never counted because that phone is the least if you were ever going to pay back what you owe,” Finn told her with a stern, hateful gaze.

“Hey!” Jerome pushed Finn’s shoulder forcefully. “What the hell is wrong with you?! You better be careful or I will be forced to teach you where you stand. You do not want to mess with me!”

Finn gave him an unfazed, daring look. “And what subject were you planning to start with? I think you should focus on getting taught instead so you can avoid continuous failure. That’s why you're in school, isn't it?”

“You fucking bastard!” Jerome was about to throw a punch at him, but Finn caught his hand.

“Not the face,” he told Jerome warningly.

Gathering her composure, Dana pushed Finn’s chest away from Jerome in anger, and then she said, “Selling that phone could have helped you a lot, you fool! But that temper of yours will be your undoing, Finn! Jerome, let's go. Stop wasting time on him. Let’s go to the Palate Haven to celebrate me finally getting rid of him.”

Jerome smiled at her. “Oh, yeah. It’s definitely worth celebrating.”

The blonde girl beside Finn chuckled softly, “And here I thought you were different, Dana, but you're just as shameless.”

Dana blinked, surprised to see Talia Montague speaking to her.

“And what’s it with you, Talia? Mind your business as you always do.”

Talia shrugged casually. “Sure, go ahead and tag along with Jerome. Who knows, maybe you’ll snag the title of ‘Whore of the Month’ while you’re at it. It’s always fun to be part of these superlatives, right? ‘Whore of the Month’ and ‘Biggest Flirt’ do have a certain charm to them, don’t they?“

Dana frowned and took Jerome’s hand. “Babe, let’s get out of here. Some people are just jealous.” Then they walked away with Jerome occasionally glancing back at Talia with an intrigued gaze.

Finn sat back down, and looked at Talia with uncertainty. “That’s nice of you.”

Talia just shrugged.

Finn’s phone rang. He quickly brought it out of his pocket and saw the number. That was when he realized his friend, Nicholas Calvert, wasn't in class.

As soon as he picked up the phone, he heard a casual voice. “Finn, I’m sure by now class has ended. I need you to come to Palate Haven on West Street near campus. I'm waiting for you.”

Finn frowned slightly and said with some confusion. “First, Palate Haven is certainly not cheap, and second, I am not going there.”

Nicholas paused for a moment, then he gasped, and spoke up, “Holy shit, man! Holy shit, man, I think your girl is cheating on you. She just came out of Jerome Danvers’ car. They’re holding hands! They're coming toward me, what should I do?”

“Let them be,” Finn said, knowing Nick was capable of launching into an attack.

“What?!” Nick blurted out. “No, man, don't tell me you knew!”

“I found out yesterday, we’ve broken up, past tense, chapter closed. I don't care anymore,” Finn answered.

“How could you not, Finn?!” Nick queried. “After everything you did for that UNGRATEFUL BITCH!!” he raised his voice as Dana got closer to Palate Haven’s entrance where he stood.

She frowned at him as they made their way inside.

Nick scoffed and continued, “How can you just let this go, man?”

Finn shook his head. “Don’t worry, buddy. She already has a lot to lose. Let her have some fun first. Anyway, Palate Haven is the most expensive restaurant nearby. Have you made a fortune recently?”

Nick laughed, “I wish! This isn't on me. Today is my aunt’s birthday. According to Angela, her mom was so happy that she gave a huge sum of money to her. Angela wants to treat her friends to a big meal.”

Hearing this, Finn had a displeased frown on his face, and then he said with a low voice, “How is that any of my business, Nick? For one, Angela is your annoying cousin, and two, we’re certainly not friends. Why should I go to her party?”

What made Finn more annoyed was the way Angela usually looked down on him. She was always so disrespectful, it was heart-wrenching.

Nick, on the other hand, was oblivious to Finn’s anger, so he persuaded, “Why should you care when you're friends with me? Don't you want free food because it’s what I'm here for? Just come! Hurry up! I'm waiting outside for you.”

After that, a busy tone came from the phone.
