Chapter 69: Midnight Conversations

The vampire was lying right in front of them. But it was no longer alive.

Dead.

And it could no longer drink anyone's blood. Right beside the vampire sat the two of them. Jack and Peter. They were panting from exhaustion. Their entire bodies were drenched in sweat. The strain on their muscles was nothing compared to the pressure on their nerves.

Just moments ago, their nerves were so tense that if anything happened, they might have snapped. So much happened in the past few moments.

From behind, the vampire grabbed Peter. Meanwhile, Jack stood in front, holding the annihilation gun. But there was nothing he could do.

Like Peter, he was helpless. He could have used the annihilation gun, but if he did, both the vampire and Peter would be destroyed. He would lose his dear friend.

When nothing else came to mind, Jack took a risk. In fact, it was the only option he had left.
