CHAPTER 32

Living in the cell feels like an eternity, and every moment drags on with agonizing slowness. The lack of motivation and the monotony of the surroundings intensify the feeling of time stretching out endlessly. With no windows to mark the passing days and only the dim flickering light bulb above us as a source of light, it is easy to lose track of time and become consumed by the sense of ever-present confinement.

Even though we have no concept of time, we can tell it is already noon based on the meals served to us. It is our third day in the cell, and for three consecutive days, we have been waiting for the Valencias' promise to find a way for us to return to the world of mortals. Our hopes hinge on their ability to fulfill their word, but with each passing moment, doubt begins to gnaw at us. We wonder if their assurances are merely empty promises and if we are destined to remain trapped in this isolated world indefinitely. But that is the only thing that we are holding onto right now.
