Chapter 29

The big bosses were sitting on chairs set up at the large table in the Faitão leader's office. The meetings took place there since the Meneses' house had been attacked. Meneses was sitting at the end of the table smoking his usual cigar, next to him Clebão was more interested in looking at Pardal in the distance in the window than sleeping as he always did at meetings. Marcel, despite being physically there, was spiritually far away, he seemed like a hollow body that was only there because he had nothing better to do.
