Chapter 5

Break time came, Gabriela watched her friends get up, but remained in the classroom. I looked out the window and saw the trees in the distance.

It was already at the end of the year and I would soon be in the last period of the Marketing course. At the end of the year, classes traveled to celebrate the next year of college. Rosângela's group would go to Porto das Galinhas, but Marcel had made it very clear that he would not allow his cousin to go.

Ketyellen's group would go to Fiz do Iguaçu. Gabriela's group would go to Porto Seguro. She very much doubted that her father would allow her to go, and if by some miracle he did, she would have to take that idiot who had become her shadow, walk up and down with that superb fellow with her. He wouldn't be able to have fun. The idea of maybe flirting with some guys or even finding a boyfriend on the sly was out of the question. He sighed, giving up dreaming about this trip.

“A princess cannot even visit some other distant kingdom without villains chasing her, making her dreams impossible.”

He looked at the written words. Would it be like this forever? She was stuck without knowing what it was like to live... Feel... Love. Would she ever be in the arms of a man who made her tremble?

“Gabi!” The blonde turned around and noticed a man who was a little overweight, his brown hair was already starting to thin out, he was wearing glasses that didn't match his face and she could see through them, his small eyes dreamily admiring her. He had a tightly wrapped package in his hands and seemed nervous about speaking.

“Pedro” The blonde looked curiously at the man, smiled after realizing what was happening there. Another man who came to declare himself. This week alone there were eight.

He always rejected the statements, flowers and chocolates that were offered to him. But she liked all that attention, she felt good, like she wasn't so lonely. She seemed to be a girl like any other engaged in romance. Which was very different from his reality.

“You are beautiful today!” he said awkwardly. She just smiled seductively, making his cheeks even redder.” You know, I always wanted to tell you something... It's been a long time since I... I... I...

He was shy. She blinked her dark eyes trying to convey a lack of understanding of the situation, which made her adorable. Deep down she knew what Pedro would say, and was already preparing to dump the man.

The door opened abruptly. Gabriela and Pedro looked towards the door in fright and saw a figure they knew appear, looking at them indifferently. Souza looked first at the blonde who turned pale.

“What is this idiot doing here?” Then he looked at the chubby guy who had a small package in his hand. He gave a nefarious smile, imperceptible to the eyes of the other two. He took out the gun from his waistband and pointed it at Pedro's forehead.

“Take this package and place it on the table on the other side of the room. Then take off your clothes and put your hands on your head.

Pedro did not obey, he was still trying to assimilate what was ordered. Or maybe it was the fact that his legs were wobbly due to a gun being pointed in his direction. Gabriela looked at the scene in disbelief. “What the hell is he doing? Does he want to kill all my admirers or does he simply want to ruin my reputation?”

“Are you deaf kid? Do what I say before I put a bullet in your head.” said the killer sharply, unlocking the gun. Hearing the sound of the gun being unlocked, the chubby man turned purple. He looked pleadingly at Gabriela, who seemed even more perplexed than him” I'm going to count to three...

Before Souza even started counting, Pedro squeezed the package tighter and walked slowly to the other side of the room. He placed the package on the teachers' table and looked at the killer who didn't take his eyes off him with the gun still pointed in his direction.

“Now take off your clothes and put your hands on your head.” Souza spoke in a calm tone. He seemed to be making a common request. “Is this guy gay? Certainty". Gabriela thought.

Pedro turned pale, looked at Gabriela, duly embarrassed, and began to unbutton his shirt.

“Souza, stop it!”ordered the blonde with an altered tone.

“I told you that I don't follow your orders, little girl. Now shut up and sit there and watch. Or there will be plenty for you too...

Gabi simply couldn't believe he was talking to her in such a... Rude way. He wouldn't make it past that day, he would complain to his father as soon as he got home. One more day around that killer and I would run away from home. Pedro looked ahead with a ashamed look, he was only in his underwear in the middle of the room, fearing that the killer would shoot a copper bullet into his head.

“Gabi? ... Because...is your security guard threatening me?”he asked stuttering. He knew that Gabriela was the heir to a large fortune, but Pedro had no idea that all that money came from organized crime. People thought that Gabriela had bodyguards so she wouldn't be kidnapped or anything like that. They had no idea that the situation was more complex. Mainly because Gabriela wasn't the only millionaire girl who had a bodyguard in college. Rosângela Moraes, Ketyellen Gonçalves and Amanda Ferraz also had bodyguards.

“Calm down Pedro, he’s not going to do anything. MAAAAAAX... Drop the damn gun!”Gabi tried to calm the man by smiling, as if that could ease the panic he felt. She screamed the name of the killer who continued to ignore her.

“I want you to open this package!” Souza pointed to the package on the table.

“It's just chocolate!

“OPEN!” said Souza loudly, making Pedro pale. The fearful man opened it showing the chocolates wrapped in sparkling red paper.” Now eat one.

Peter obeyed immediately. He eagerly put the chocolate in his mouth and chewed, swallowing hard. Souza, after being sure that the man had swallowed the chocolate, put the gun on his waist and softened his deadly gaze.

“C-can I... Go... Away?” he asked, trying to swallow his tears. He still felt scared, as well as feeling humiliated.

“Yes!” Souza sat on one of the tables. He watched with amusement as the fat man hurriedly put on his clothes. When Pedro had finished buttoning his shirt, the bell rang announcing that the break was over. The man left the room hurriedly without looking at the blonde or the killer inside the room.

“How can you be such an IDIOT?”Gabi threw the case towards Souza, who dodged the object with ease.

“He could be a murderer! Even with that ridiculous appearance, I'm not here to measure the quality of men you attract.” said Souza, getting up and going towards the table where the chocolates were, pointing to the treats and speaking calmly. And that could be a bomb that would explode in that pretty face of yours!

“A bomb? God, you're more paranoid than Marcel!” Gabi nervously ran her hands through her blonde locks. They seemed to be unaware that the bell had rung and that little by little some students arrived and stood curiously at the door, watching the scene.” Are you going to tell me that you told him to eat the chocolates because they might be poisoned?

“You're not as stupid as I imagined.” He walked over to Gabriela and threw the box of chocolates on the blonde's table.

“God, you're crazy!” Gabi accused the man, looking at him with some fear. I was beginning to think he was really dangerous, as Rosângela had said.

They heard a timid clearing of the throat coming from the door. Gabriela felt her face flush when she noticed that her entire class was watching that ridiculous episode in which she was intimidated by a random security guard. In addition to listening to the conversation, which was not at all common. Bombs, poison in candy, were airtight things for the life of an eighteen-year-old university student. The teacher looked at the girl as if begging her to ask the intimidating man to leave the room. However, Gabriela didn't need to ask, Souza, at the same moment he noticed the teacher's pleading look, left the room. The boys took a reluctant step back while the girls huddled frantically to keep their eyes on the handsome killer.

If before I thought my life was hell, I was wrong. The well can always be deeper, and when you think things can't get worse, don't be fooled... They can. My dream of getting a prince is becoming more impossible every day. Mainly because a psychopath called Max de Souza is part of my life...
