15| Prison Sirens

Eryk stood with his hands tucked in his trouser pockets. His tall body could loom in the darkness and over the park wall. The crow flew in circles high above his head, and then he shouted at Eryk.

"I thought we were going to find something to eat?"

"Later!" replied Eryk coldly.

The young man stopped across from the prison. An old beech tree stretched to the wall, and Eryk is almost hidden among its dense leaves.

"Why are you here? You're just wasting time, Wayland! We'd better get some food soon. You promised me a delicious dinner!" shouted the crow angrily.

Eryk previously heard strange noises from the prison tower. Now his gaze turned to a house that stood across from the prison.

Eryk continued to stare at the large house built under the prison's shadow. Since living in the abandoned park, on nights when he couldn't sleep, Eryk often sat pensively on the fence and stared at the house.
