When Eryk stepped onto one of the roofs of the next building, he didn't pay much attention because it was dark. Someone suddenly hit him with a baseball bat, causing Eryk to fall.
White flew above him without a sound. He could only see Eryk rolling on the roof of the building. Footsteps were rushing up the fire escape not far from where Eryk fell.
The sound of the footsteps made Eryk immediately alert. When he tried to get up, a group of men dressed in all black came after him.
Eryk struggled to swing his legs to stand up and run. However, his toes felt sunk in the holes in his shoes. Something was blocking Eryk's movement. He became stiff and not as flexible as usual.
The place where he stood was sheltered by the shadow. However, he could see through the streaks of light from the surrounding buildings. Several men lined up near the wall and surrounded it. They were all dressed in all black and wearing black masks.
Eryk couldn't recognize them—boys or girls, Eryk didn't know. None of them made a sound. The atmosphere is so silent. Footsteps were heard again up the stairs one by one.
"There's more coming, and this time the pace is more electrifying."
A long-haired man with a black hat and robe walked away from the crowd surrounding Eryk. The man's face was hidden by the end of the cap. His long hair was swept by the wind.
"Catch him!" the man ordered.
Erick backed away in fright. However, a group of people dressed in all black surrounded him from all directions. Eryk had no way to escape.
"Who are you?" shouted Eric. "I have no business with you."
One of the figures clad in black held Eryk's hand. The man's hands were wrapped in damp black gloves. He pulled Eryk towards his partner.
Eryk struggled, but someone else held his hand. Eryk's hands were pulled behind his back.
"Get off me, you bastard. What do you want?"
Eryk struggled until the food he kept in his coat pocket fell. For a moment, the men stopped and stared in astonishment at the remains of the fried chicken Eryk kept inside his shirt.
The long-haired man in a black robe laughed and ordered his men to hold Eryk's feet.
Eryk tried to pull away, but they gripped him too tightly.
"Don't fight!" said the long-haired man. "This is the best for you. I swear," he said aloud.
Eryk never believed anyone's words, especially strangers he had just met. "Why am I so unlucky? After meeting Alyssa, I am now surrounded by these strange men." Eryk kicked the man's shin, trying to pull him, and clawed.
However, the two people holding Eryk's hands had strength beyond any average human. They covered Eryk and almost broke his neck.
Two more men joined in to pull Eryk's legs. Eryk really floated this time. His body, which was not too stocky, was lifted easily by the four burly men. They took him to the landing and were ready to drop Eryk from a height.
"Let me go!" shouted Eryk very loudly.
The cold night air hit his body. He was literally floating on the outskirts of the landing with four men holding him. If they let go of the hold, Eryk would fall freely to the ground, and he might die with his head smashed against the asphalt.
Eryk looked around for White. But didn't see the owl anywhere. Nothing could help him this time. Eryk has to fight with himself. He struggled, writhing and screaming like a frightened child.
They pulled and pushed Eryk over the ledge. This time Eryk's feet hung in the air. He couldn't see the ground beneath him because the building was too tall. Two men still held his arms above and kept Eryk's body hanging.
"What are you guys waiting for?" said the long-haired man behind Eryk. "Go for it! Come on, throw him!" the man ordered.
"Why?" shouted Eryk very loudly. "Why do you want to kill me? Aren't you the one who killed the summoners here too? I'm not a summoner!"
For the next split second, Eryk's stomach felt twisted. The hands gripping his body let go, and he floated freely amidst the cold, crashing air. Eryk imagined he would die in a few seconds.
Then something seemed to support the weight of his body. He felt the flutter of wings and the fine hairs around his body. Owl and his flock caught Eryk.
The owls covered Eryk's arms and legs. Their claws gripped Eryk's skin and clothes. They were like dark clouds that appeared out of nowhere and carried him up.
Eryk's face was covered with owl feathers and smelled of earth. His body floated up and up, carried by an owl with broad wings that kept flapping.
"White, is that you?" muttered Eryk weakly.
He could barely tell the difference between hallucination and reality. Eryk surrendered his body to these birds and the rhythm of their flight.
The owls started moving down and landed Eryk's body slowly on the pavement. Then they flew back towards the surrounding buildings and slipped between the remaining tall trees.
Eric opened his eyes. He looked up at the roof of the building he was dropped from. Eryk saw nothing but darkness. When he regained consciousness, he was already on the sidewalk. Eryk immediately rolled over and tried to get up. The young man was so shivering and scared.
Then, he saw a figure, something, appear from the darkness in an alley in front of him.
The figure drew closer to him. He was the long-haired man who previously ordered his men to drop Eryk from the roof of the building. Getting closer, the man seemed to have no expression on his face.
Eryk wanted to look away, but his eyes kept drawn to the pale, long-haired figure. Even now, the man's face was getting paler again because his black hair was so long that it reached his hips.
Eryk stared into the man's eyes which were completely black, everything from the pupil to the retina; there was no white part; everything was black as a hole. Eryk didn't know who the man was, but he was sure he was dangerous because he had just tried to kill him.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
The man was standing at the end of the alley. He looked at Eryk, still lying on the ground with his hands behind his back. The man's lips curved into a smile as he raised his hand. His fingers were like drooping spider legs, thin and long.
Eryk could see the man wearing a big gold ring with a symbol. When his fingers went up, he wasn't wearing gloves like the other men who had knocked Eryk off the roof.
The stranger snapped his fingers, and a shroud of black smoke appeared around him. The black smoke grew denser and gave rise to an image of a massive monster above his head. Eryk saw that it was like a giant fog.
Eryk almost peed his pants. He really didn't understand the situation he was in. For a moment, the owls were gone again. In this world, there was no one but Eryk and the stranger. The man's voice was a low whisper on his lips, barely moving, but Eryk could hear it.
"I'm coming for you, Eryk Wayland!"
Eryk woke up screaming. Sweat was starting to dry on his forehead, and his arms were getting goosebumps. He could see his breath under the layer of awning stretched between the branches above him. As it sat, the tree creaked, and the nest in which it lay shook slightly. The white owl rushed away from Eryk's hand."Coincidence," Eryk muttered. "This must be just a coincidence.""What is it?" White asked. He landed from the branch above Eryk's head and approached him beside the young man.Eryk closed his eyes and imagined a gold ring with a distinctive symbol on the finger of the pale man who had attacked him."Tell me, White. How can I come back here? Wasn't the last time I was attacked on the sidewalk in the middle of Rockwool City?""Yeah, you passed out after a bunch of guys threw you from a great height. My friends and I tried to catch you and land you on the pavement. But after that, you screamed like crazy, and you passed out again.""Not!" Eric shook his head. "That's not how it
The sound of an emergency alarm and a police car siren blared simultaneously, making Eryk's head feel like it was going to explode. Suddenly he forgot how to get out of there because he panicked and was confused.Eryk's hands and clothes were covered in his uncle's blood. He ran towards the door, but some people with galloping footsteps came closer. Erick backed away in fright. He looked the other way and saw a white curtain swinging like a pale ghost. Eryk pushed aside the curtains and found the door leading to the balcony slightly ajar.Eryk opened the sliding glass door wider. The wind immediately hit his body. He heard a noise from the balcony. When he stepped outside, Eryk caught someone just jumping from there."Who is that?" thought Eric.Just as he was preparing to jump from the second floor and hunt down the person who had just escaped, he heard the door to his uncle's study open with a bang. Several bodyguards were standing there with guns and radios in their hands. Eryk cou
The bullet shot towards Eryk's head. He saw it very clearly. But, there is something strange. When the bullet headed toward him, the atmosphere suddenly slowed until finally, the time seemed to stop completely. The two police officers in front of Eryk were like a picture in the action films where they did slow motion. The two police officers were surrounded by large amounts of white, brown and black pigeons.Eryk could even see the birds stop in a floating position. They don't move at all like a statue. One of the birds' claws was even seen penetrating the skin of the police officer. The blood that dripped from the scratch wound also froze and stopped flowing.Everything is like an illusion. While the air around Eryk feels empty. There is no sound, no wind, and everything is meaningless. The bullet stopped about one inch in front of Eryk's forehead. When Eryk moved his hands quickly to protect the head from bullets as if the world had ended right then and there. All the last moments l
Eryk rolled to the side to avoid the attack of a windstorm fired by a man in the red coat. The wind storm hit one of the walls of the building, making it crack.Eryk's heart beat fast. If he is late in avoiding, maybe his life won't be helped for the second time."You can't run away from me. Submit your summon spirit!""I'm not a summoner!" shouted Eryk. "I don't have any summon spirit."In the second attack, Eryk can avoid it even faster. The corner of his eyes caught something familiar to the man in the red coat. When his sleeves were injected, Eryk saw a tattoo there. The tattoo image is the same as the carving of a man in black in his dream.A dragon without a tail! The man in the red coat does not like failure. He became angry and began to exert his bigger strength. Both hands began to create a stronger vortex, manifesting black clouds above his head. It felt like the storm would come right away from the man's hands.Eryk can't fight him. He cannot protect himself even he's weapo
Alyssa Harris walked down an aisle in knee-high boots whose soles echoed softly. Her short skirt swayed as she walked. Her hair fell perfectly down to her waist. She walked with her head held high like a professional capital. On her chest was a pretty striking black rose brooch.Alyssa stopped in front of a door at the end of the hall. The door was closed with a large carved rose in the center. At the entrance's top is a nameplate that says the principal. After knocking on the door three times, Alyssa started to turn the knob and opened it. She stepped into the cool, rose-scented room, carefully keeping her composure under control.Alyssa turned around after closing the door. She was greeted with an attack of flying needles that shot toward her. Alyssa swiftly dodged and avoided the arrows. Alyssa's summoned spirit stored in the black rose brooch on her chest immediately jumped and transformed into a large plant that protected Alyssa. Some of the needles are stuck in the trunk of the
Eryk is dragged into a glowing hole that resembles a time portal. Eryk needed to figure out what name or term to call the light circle. Eryk fell with a thump very painfully. He was unprepared for the sudden change of situation and place. When he realized he had moved and was now in the middle of a sea of electronic waste and used cars.Eryk didn't know that the Rockwool landfill also had a particular area for storing electronic waste and used cars. Only this time, Eryk knows the place. He saw mountains of household trash on the far side of where he was. So Eryk is sure that he has returned to Rockwool."Ow!" His arm was scratched when he fell on a pile of old and rusty iron. The same crow is still following Eryk. He perched on a pile of washing machine waste of all sizes and types.Eryk was annoyed to see the crow. He immediately jumped to catch it when the crow was off guard. But, the blackbird with its loud voice was more agile and more agile than Eryk thought. He flapped his wings
The monster walked with slow steps but made the whole ground tremble. When the monster almost caught Eryk, he swung his fist at Eryk.Punch!Eryk jumped into the lower pile of used electronics. All the items hit by the monster's fists jumped and scattered in all directions. One of the electronic shards hit Eryk's cheek and scratched it.Eryk wiped the blood off his cheek. Another monster fist came.Eryk flipped backward and landed in a stance. He growled, and his eyes stared fiercely. The giant was no less fierce. He wanted to get Eryk."I wouldn't say twice, Wayland. Hand over your summoned spirit, and I will let you go free. Why do you think your life has suffered all this time? Because of the summoned spirit inside you."Alyssa jumped up while chanting words that Eryk didn't know the meaning of. A purplish light appeared around the girl's body.Another monster appeared, this time made from used tires where Alyssa had previously stood. These tire monsters are bigger, stronger, and w
When thrown, White changed back into the form of a white owl. Her body rolled on the hard ground. Eryk was also flung quite far. His back even hit some electronic junk. The monster made of old tires and the monster made of old electronics came swiftly from two directions. They both targeted White as well as Eryk.At the top of a mountain of used car wrecks, Alyssa stood with an annoying smile. Duri sat on Alyssa's shoulder with a tense face. Alyssa's hands moved quickly. With Duri, she moved the two monsters she made using only hand movements. The monster sprinted closer to Eryk. His feet, made from a collection of several vast and heavy used truck tires, lifted and were ready to step on Eryk's body.On the other hand, a monster made of used electronics swung its fist to smash into the sprawling White. When the first shot above White's body, the owl rolled and flew away with no less agility. The monster's fist hit the ground and left a hole in the punch mark."Fuck!" Alyssa cursed.Sh
