"We're messengers from young master Killian, and didn't Miss Irene tell us what we're here for?" Henry replied, wrinkling his brow tightly.

"Oh, then forgive us; as a local official, I just want to make sure," he replied to Henry's answer with a bad feeling.

He had to do that because he had often seen people who were not polite coming to his village. Their behaviour is bold.

It is common for them to vent their frustration on the residents if their purpose of coming here has yet to be achieved.

There have been attempts by the village head to go and report their behaviour, but they have consistently failed, and he needs to figure out why they don't respond. All the village chief could do was remind the villagers not to make trouble with them, or they would harm him.

So when Killian's entourage came, he was cautious, even though Irene had told him. He did that only to protect his people from outside intimidation.
