Valerie was at home lying on her bed. The news that Ethan had been found had not yet been published, mostly for personal reasons.

He was not ready to start attending press conferences or granting interviews or even having the media people show up in his house. For now all he wanted to do was rest.

She decided to get on her feet and head downstairs to grab something to bite. On her way down she immediately noticed that Clifford was seated at the dining table.

She could already feel her stomach tighten as adrenaline surged through her, even though she was scared to admit it to herself, it was obvious that she hated this man.

He was no more than a manipulator who only played the role of father when he was convenient for him or when he stood to gain something from her.

When Clifford saw her, he spoke. “Valerie, your mum told me that you were only an accident, how did that happen?”
