She was in the room that Stacey had reserved for them. It was two people per room, and since they were sisters she and Renée took the same room.Monica and Janet would be staying together in another room. Stacey and her husband were sharing the last room together. Their relatives would start trooping in any moment from tomorrow as it was a 3-day event. However the bridesmaids arrived a bit earlier so they could help Stacey with the planning. Valerie's eyes were glued to the ceiling as she was sprawled out on the bed. Earlier when she confronted her sister about who she was calling, Renee just told her that since her car got destroyed in the accident and still in police custody, she was calling the dealer for another one. But she knew it was a lie because right now all the money available was being geared towards campaigns. She knew her father Clifford very well, this was not the time he would be willing to spend money to get a brand new car for Renee. However she didn't want to pre
Three bikes came to a stop near them. Some people turned to face the sound of the sound, wondering what the cause of the commotion was. Mason came down with a smirk on his face, “well well well, look who's on a date,” He sneered, his eyes locked with Raul. Skyler instantly felt nervous but she composed herself and rose up. Raul reached out to grab her hands but she didn't listen. “What do you want Mason?” She asked through gritted teeth. He raked his eyes over Skyler from head to toe. “Stay out of this pretty face,” he said rudely and then shoved her aside. This earned him distasteful glares from some people in the restaurant. “Don’t push her like that!” Raul warned, slamming his hands on the table. Skyler was still rubbing her hands from the small bruise Mason had unintentionally given her on her arm when he grabbed her too tightly. Mason laughed. “Awwn would you look at that, he's standing up for his girlfriend.”The waiter, sensing the tensions rising stepped forward. “Pleas
Ethan adjusted the rear view mirror and he saw the cop cars pulling up in the house. However their car was already ahead and moving away. “I don't think they realized we've left,” Keith said, peering at the cops through the side mirrors. The policemen were armed and circling the house with guns trained. He took a deep breath and kept driving. The police would certainly find the dead bodies in the house and then would probably order a manhunt for them. So whatever they had to do, they had to be fast about it.“Are you sure this place Frank is showing us is safe and secure? Can you even trust Frank?” Ethan asked. Keith nodded. “If I could trust him with my family all these years while I was away, then yes I can trust them.”Bruno was tied up in the trunk and Ethan was planning to use him to find out where Cyrus was located. They kept driving for a while and eventually got stuck in traffic.“Oh my sorry I forgot to tell you, you shouldn't have taken this route. It can get really busy
Valerie noticed her sister running off. She hung around and pretended to be interested in all the activities Stacey had planned but when the time was right and everybody was preoccupied, she slipped away. It was a sandy beach and the breeze was strong. She could almost taste the salt from the sea. Her light tropical dress billowed against her body as she moved in the direction she saw her sister last. Her cupped palms protected her eyes from the harsh sunlight. At some point she had to stop and turn her head around. There was no sign of Renée anywhere. She exhaled and then placed her arms on her waist. “Where the hell could you have gone?” She muttered to herself. The dryness in her throat suddenly intensified and then she remembered that she had not had anything to drink for a while. She trudged towards one of the wooden shops and bought a coconut drink. With the coconut in her hand, she continued her search for her sister and she was drinking from the straw. “Valerie, Stacey h
Mason pressed the knife tightly against Raul’s neck. “Let him go!” She screamed. The distraction was all Raul needed to kick Mason in the groin. “Argh!” He yelled as he curled up in pain. But before Raul couldn't get away, Mason kicked him to the floor and then grabbed the knife. However, Skyler had carried a chair and before Mason could stab Raul, Skyler crashed the chair against his back, knocking him out instantly. The knife clattered as it fell to the ground. She extended her hand to Raul to help him up. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” He shook his head. “I'll be fine,” he said. She slung his arm over her shoulders acting as his support. Together they made their way out. Raul had been beaten badly by the boys. “We should take him to the school clinic,” Irene suggested as she stopped the taxi. The three of them got into the taxi and instructed the driver to take them to the school hospital. As a student of West coast, trea
Almost everybody closed their eyes in anticipation for the worst. Everyone except Ethan, because he was the one driving. There was no escape, on the left lane a truck was heading towards them and on the right lane there was already a truck there. They were moving too fast to suddenly hit the brakes anyway. With skilful position, he drove in between the very narrow space between the two vehicles. Barely managing to get past before the two trucks sandwiched the SUV, giving it a very big scratch on each side. But he managed to stabilize the car and he had passed the two trucks successfully, the only consequence was that the two side mirrors had broken off in the process. The cop car behind them wasn't going to take the risk so it slowed down giving Ethan the chance to speed away. “Oh my God, that was extremely dangerous!” Leilani exclaimed when she opened her eyes. “They are children in the back!” She yelled again out of fear.
Ethan looked around to be sure that his eyes were not deceiving him. He trained his gun forward and then took careful steps into the room, swiveling his head around. A solid mass crashed into his shoulders and he fell to the ground. His gun slipped away from his grip and fell down, sliding towards the edge of the room. Somehow Bruno had managed to free himself from the rope and then he grabbed the nightstand which was just by the corner in the room and waited behind the door to eat and to come in before he hit Ethan with it. The noise however, alerted Keith who stretched his arm out in front of Leilani and the kids in a protective manner. It obviously came from the room where Bruno was kept so he was being careful. His hands hovered over his gun. “Go into a room and stay there,” he instructed them. With fear in her eyes, Leilani quickly dragged the children towards the room. Meanwhile Ethan was struggling to get on his feet
Valerie's eyes were wide open. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. The accident she had with the car that almost killed her wasn't random, it was her sister's ploy. She knew that day that the brakes stopped working out of the blues, but never suspected that Renée was the one who tampered with them. Renée was equally in shock, with color draining from her face. Her grip on her phone loosened, causing it to slip and fall from her hand, and then tumble down the stairs because she was standing very close to the stairs that were descending to the floor below. Valerie took a few steps back as she shook her head in this belief. “How could you?” She accused, her voice choked with emotion. “Calm down, I can explain.” Renée tried to step forward but Valerie moved backwards. “Not another inch, don't you dare come near me.” At this point the both of them had already broken into tears. “Valerie please, I can explain. It's not what it looks like. Maybe it is but-” “But what?! B
