• Prepare The Jets

“Please Desmond, I beg you to reconsider!” Elizabeth croaked as the security guards flung her out of the compound.

She fell onto the asphalt and bruised her knees and palms almost instantly.

“You ungrateful piece of shit!” he barked. The next things that came flying were two measly looking bags which contained her things and her daughter's belongings as well.

She sprang up on her feet and rang towards the gate but then he banged it shut before her face. “Don't ever come back here if you don't want me to break your legs!” Desmond warned.

She looked at all of them as they stood in the compound with a triumphant smirk on their faces. Now the work was finished, Ethan was dead, Skyler would soon die and Elizabeth was a poor helpless woman with no kids.

Now nobody would come to compete for the family property with them, the Vanguard group was all theirs.

Elizabeth conceited to her faith and picked up her bags, giving the Vanguard manor one last glance before trudging down the street with tears streaming down her face.

The only place where she could get money from was gone, they had just kicked her out permanently. Her daughter was in the hospital dying and by this evening, she would be dead.

There was nothing she could do to stop it, absolutely nothing. If only she could give her lungs to Skyler, she would have done so without thinking twice.

She kept walking, even though she wasn't headed in any particular direction, she herself didn't know what to do next, she was tired.

After a few hours, her legs eventually carried her to a bridge. She paused and overlooked the water beneath, taking in a deep breath.

She stole a glance at her wrist watch, it was past six, and her daughter was going to be removed from oxygen anytime now. She couldn't bear the pain anymore.

“Howard, I hope you'll forgive me for this,” she whispered. She stood by the edge and they took in the view of the city.

If she couldn't be with her daughter physically, she might as well join her, that was their whole family could be reunited even in death.

She jumped, plummeting down until she hit the surface of the water with a large splash and sank to the bottom. Bubbles escaped from her mouth as she sank, but she didn't try to struggle, she just closed her eyes and wished that death would come soon.

Back in the hospital, the doctor's were growing impatient. “It's way past the time and she has not returned,” one of them said.

“Let's give her till tomorrow morning, she might be trying to raise the money,” the doctor who had talked to her earlier said.

“What makes this place run is money, I'm sorry but it's far too expensive to keep maintaining this patient whom we obviously know has no means of payment even if she survives, take off the oxygen,” the head doctor instructed.

Reluctantly the medical team began to disconnect her from the life support machines ever so slowly. They parted and hoped for a miracle of any sort, even the slightest one.

But nobody came. The doctor looked at Skyler's unconscious form and shook his head, she looked like such a vibrant girl.

He took off the life support machine and within seconds she began to jerk. He held her hand, as a means of paying his last respects within her dying moments.

Much to his surprise, she gave his hand a tight squeeze. He gritted his teeth as he watched in pain how she was gasping for breath.

“Wait!” A sharp feminine voice cut through the hall. He quickly turned around, expecting to see Elizabeth but instead he saw another woman. One he'd never seen come around the hospital before.

She was beautiful with long thick hair and a body that was sculpted to perfection. “Put her back on oxygen! I'll pay!” She shouted and that was all he needed to hear.

He and his team immediately reassembled everything and began working to stabilize Skyler's vitals. The woman wasn't allowed into the hospital room since she was not wearing protective gear.

She watched with wide eyes from outside as they were treating Skyler.

Suddenly the ECG machine began to beep as the waves on its display thinned out into a straight line. “Code red! Code red!” The doctor screamed and she noticed nurses running past her and into the room.

Confusion marred her features as she looked around. “W-whats going on?” She asked one of the nurses rushing in but they provided her with no response.

Ethan leaned forward on her seat as the woman before him was showing him videos of how the Vanguard's have been mistreating his sister and mother.

His lips were tightened as she formed a fist with his hands. He had arranged for some spies to watch over his mother and sister, and intervene if things were getting out of hand.

“I have to return to Brentcoast right away,” he declared.

Roberts nodded, “Family always comes first.”

Ethan smiled greatful for Edwards support. As he go on his feet, the woman beside him suddenly frowned, it seemed like she was listening to something on her intercom.

“Wait, sir, a new footage just dropped,” she informed him and set the tablet down. She clicked play on the video that had just entered.

It was one of Desmond throwing his mother out for the house like she was a criminal. His breathing became unstable as he watched.

She fast forwarded to the point where Elizabeth climbed the bridge and plunged into the water, it made Ethan jump in his feet. His heat rate calmed down when he realized that one of the men he'd put incharge of his mother jumped in and saved her.

“Those animals pushed my mother to the brink of suicide, and it won't go unpunished,” he growled.

He turned to his assistant, “prepare the jet, we're going to Brentcoast, Newcrest. This visit is long overdue.”
