Sheila heads to the living room window. She notices a black luxury car parked not far away with two bodyguards keeping watch.

“You guys better get out of here.” She turns to Abner and Evan, “My neighbors will comment. I don’t want Matthew to be harmed at all.”

Abner nods, “OK, Sheila. But now you know everything. I’ll no longer allow you two to be away from me, away from family, and away from what you deserve.”

“I don’t want your money or your lifestyle.” Sheila retorts.

Evan counters, “But you asked if Matthew wanted that? Did you allow your son to choose whether he wanted to have a good life or not? I bet he doesn’t even know everything about his father.”

“He knows his father died in a car accident when he was very little.” Sheila responds defiantly, “He knows what he needs to know.”

Abner shakes his head, “Sheila, as I told you before, it’s time to put an end to this. Tell Matthew the truth today. I’ll meet him at the university office on Monday to explain further. Let’s go, Evan.”

He would never even dream of suspecting that he was worthy of a multi-million dollar business empire. When Abner finished, Matthew started asking questions that he didn’t dare to ask Sheila, “Grandpa, my mother suspects that someone in the family ordered the accident.”Abner, however, dismisses the theory with a gesture, “Your mother thinks that, because your father was the only heir in sight, he would be fatally targeted by envious people, in this case, my son-in-law Vicente Gouveia, your uncle. But that is absurd. Your uncle is incapable of doing such a thing.”Matthew caught the tone used in the word ‘incapable’, “He’s not one of high achievement, right?”Abner wrinkles his nose, “It was obvious from the beginning that he was only marrying my daughter Andreia for our money. But Andreia loves the idiot, and I didn’t want to be one of

Running his hand over his face to calm his nerves, he complained, “You too, Elaine!” “What’s wrong?” Elaine smiled maliciously. “Tired of telling lies and trying to defend yourself in vain?” “How do you know my defense is in vain?” Fernando narrowed his eyes. Elaine headed toward the waiting seats, picking one. “I know you must be desperately trying to ‘prove’ that your attack on Mr. Alvares has nothing to do with your hidden passion for Patty.” “How many times do I have to tell you I am NOT in love with Patty?” Fernando clenched one fist. “That’s a lie made up by Liz’s mind. Remember, it’s because of these paranoias that she couldn’t take it and is now in there fighting for her life.” Elaine lost her smile. “The only fight Liz is involved in is proving how harmful Patty is to society, to men!” “If you keep talking like that, you’ll be next,” Fernando said through grit

Who’s going to handle the book signing?” Cindy commented venomously. Jackson shook his head. “The information we have is that Elaine was fired from Golden Letters.” Cindy smiled maliciously, feeling vindicated. “That’s the least that can be expected. Oh, why did Matt—” Cindy’s phone buzzed with a message notification. She checked her phone anxiously. “It’s Matt. He just sent me what I should officially say in the magazine. I need to forward this to Andreia,” Cindy informed the others, already sharing the message. Vanda sighed in relief. Elain

Ruining your appetite?” Jackson reacted, pretending to be shocked. “Hey, for someone as big as you, who can handle wearing me out all night long, eating a lot is normal and necessary.” Cindy laughed, lightly nudging Jackson’s shoulder. Jackson pretended the nudge hurt, but laughed along with his beloved. Cindy chewed and swallowed another bite. “Hmm... my mom outdid herself. So, my dear, how was your day?” “My day was great. Besides exercising, I caught some sun by the pool.” Jackson ran his hand under his tank top. Cindy noticed his tanned skin. “That’s really good for your health. And Patty went to Ron’s house. He’s now living in his grandparents’ mansion.” Cindy nodded in approval. “He couldn’t keep living in that penthouse with that toxic and harmful environment.” “Yeah. Ron already had a bit of a mental problem. Now we know where he got it from.” Jackson shook his head. “Speaking of his family, the news of Liz’s stroke — the real one — is being kept under wraps, huh? His last explanation seemed quite plausible.” Sheila smiled awkwardly. “Yeah, getting your hands dirty for your son. I have to admit, if it were Ron, with how jealous he is, it would be worse.” “But from what they say about Gus Alvares, he seems to be quite muscular, like a comic book hero. More muscular than I am,” Matthew chuckled. “How could Ron defeat him?” Sheila replied somberly, “Matt, sometimes the power of a weapon surpasses that of fists.” Matthew stopped laughing. His mother was right. Evan offered, “Do you want me to look into this matter closely?” Matthew gestured. “I don’t think that’s necessary. What I need now is Fabian Mendes to formalize the divorce. Now, we need to see the situation emotionally. Don’t you think you’ve overdone it in defending Patricia?”“No. I think this whole thing about the dockworkers revering Patty as the ‘Diva of the Silva Oil Company’ is going way too far. They’re confusing admiration with lust. At least, that’s what Gus Alvares thinks.”“But it’s his father who is bedridden.” Matthew observed coldly.“It wasn’t supposed to be hi
