It's almost like an insult for Leia, for only getting information about the monster's level after using her highest level of scanning skill.
“I can understand if the scanning doesn't show the abilities of the monster we just met. But currently, I only get information about the monster's name and its level,” she informs the others.
“As for the name, we can also see it from the hologram that appears above the monster's head,” Zul replies.
“I know!” she replies, looking so annoyed with Zul's response.
“So, what level monsters?” asks Gaston.
“Level 95,” Leia replies curtly. “Maybe later, after observing you fighting that monster for a while, I could get more detailed info about the boss,” Leia explains.
“Hey, wait a minute!” Azzim suddenly interrupts their conversation.
The other three people immediately turn to him with curious faces.
“As I recall, two weeks ago, I once met a dragon type monster by the name of Zarkhan around The Deadly Swamp area. But I only saw a level 62 monster, and its size was much smaller,” Azzim continues.
“And then?” asks Leia.
“Well, I just immediately ran away,” Azzim replies a little awkwardly.
“A person like you chose to flee when encountering a level 60 monster? Are you serious?” asks Leia with a slightly silly look on her face, as if she doesn’t believe it. “What’s with the Azzim we know, the one who is always so crazy about fighting monsters?”
A moment later, the dragon opens its eyes and happens to be looking straight at Azzim. Somehow, it turns out that the dragon is indeed showing the kind of attitude like he remembers Azzim's face.
The dragon then rises its head, trying to get up from its slumber, still staring straight at Azzim. At that moment, Zul launches his ice elemental magic attack. Several spears of ice crystal fly so fast towards the dragon.
But The Great Zarkhan doesn’t seem to care. Suddenly, those ice spears are melted away with just a sneeze coming out of its nostrils.
The dragon shakes its body, trying to get rid of all the dust on its back and wings. No one knows how long this dragon has been sleeping inside this huge cavern.
“Well, there are indeed dragon-type monsters which are quite strong against ice elemental attacks,” says Leia.
“So, the type of dragon that has a great affinity for fire elemental, huh? In that case, I'll go first and try to distract him. Leia, activate your Battle Aura immediately!” exclaims Gaston before advancing with his large ax.
Leia closes her eyes for a moment as she tries to control the flow of her mana. An instant later, an aura with a golden yellow color starts to radiate, continuing to expand into a radius of 20 meters around her.
At that instant, all the basic stats of her friends are increased by the aura she shares. Both their base Strength and their base Physical Damage stats are increased by 20%.
Both Gaston and Azzim seem to be starting to get more aggressive after receiving a little boost from the aura Leia releases.
Gaston, with traits that have the most endurance in the group, confronts the dragon at the forefront. Meanwhile, Azzim launches an attack using arrows from a distance, taking advantage of any opening that his friend has created for him.
When Gaston manages to hit the dragon's head with his huge ax, the dragon counterattacks by lashing out its tail. But suddenly, a kind of ice shield has been created near his rear, protecting his ribs from the dragon’s tail that is about to hit him.
The ice shield is shattered, and the tail whip is still capable of sending him into the cave wall. But he gets back immediately, as if he hasn't suffered any significant damage at all.
“Thank you, Zul!” says Gaston. “Your magic isn’t very effective against that monster at the moment. Just focus on using your magic to protect me.”
“Roger that!” Zul replies.
Azzim is still busy shooting out his arrows. However, even after shooting out all the arrows, none of them are able to penetrate the dragon’s thick skin.
As if realizing he has no use with that weapon, he throws away the bow. He then takes out his daggers, preparing to face the dragon monster head-on with melee weapons.
“Azzim, hold on!” Gaston halts him just as he is about to start his move. “Stay back! I can still deal with that monster.”
“Don't start it yet, Azzim!” shouts Leia, who is still standing in the very back position, away from the fight. “You guys only need to play with that monster for a while, so that I can analyze the monster’s abilities a bit more.”
That's their plan for the moment, only trying to attack the monster with a low risk approach until Leia gets enough time to observe the monster’s characteristics.
But the problem is, even after more than 10 hours of fighting, the monster still doesn't seem to care at all. As they fight with a half-hearted approach, the monster also looks like it is holding back itself. As if it is just playing around with these rats who are currently raiding its lair.
After that long showdown, Leia’s scanning technique is still unable to give more detailed information regarding the dragon’s characteristics. Their attacks are just not effective enough in pushing The Great Zarkhan to show its true capabilities.
Almost a day has passed with them still fighting the monster in that cavern. During that time, they could survive by using utility items and Leia’s Vitality Aura for regeneration. But the dragon hasn't shown any significant damage either.
Azzim, who knows how important it is to push the monster down, starts to be reckless. He dashes straight at the monster, and then jumps so high as if ready to plunge the tip of his short sword to the monster’s thick skin.
The dragon flings its head to blow Gaston away, and then slams him against the cave wall. A moment later, he opens his mouth so wide at Azzim who is still in mid air.
“Holly shit!” he mumbles with a pale face, noticing the heat from the dragon’s mouth cavity.
“Zul!” Gaston shouts, issuing Zul to make a quick move.
At that moment, Zul is already closing his eyes. But for the time being, he has been drawing more mana out of his body to create another protective ice shield.
A thicker and sturdier shield of ice is created in front of Azzim just as the dragon blows out its flame breath. Even though he manages to create such a thick ice shield in time, that burst of fire is still able to destroy it.
At least, it was enough to give Azzim a little time to dodge and dive back to the ground. However, his shoulder seems to have been slightly burned by the dragon’s flame breath. Even his armor is damaged at the shoulder part of the armor.
Leia, who is so awry by Azzim’s condition, immediately rushes over to him.
“Skill Set! Activate healing skill level 5!”
Her entire body is immediately engulfed by a dense green aura like a pool of plasma. As soon as she gets near Azzim, that green plasma gathers around his arms.
She immediately starts the healing process by bringing her palms close to Azzim's injured shoulder. She doesn’t pay attention to the dragon monster which has already twisted its body, intending to whip its tail at them.
Gaston shouts furiously with the grave mistake Leia has made. “Leia! What the fuck is wrong with you!” He slams his huge axe down, releasing a shock wave attack that spreads across the floor. The energy attack continues to spread until it hits the dragon’s tail and prevents it from hitting Azzim and Leia. The dragon turns its attention back to Gaston who is still not deterred by its rampage. It starts hunting him back. “Leia, you should know that you must always keep your distance in battle. We won't be able to get out of this place alive if anything happens to you,” shout Gaston. “I know. You don't need to teach me basic things like that,” Leia argues while she is busy treating the burn on Azzim's shoulder. It’s not like she’s being reckless. She just has that much confidence in Gaston’s ability to protect her, while she really needs to cover the injured teammate. Shortly after, Azzim backs up and looks ready to continue the fight. Meanwhile, Leia immediately takes out a short s
They already feel the heat from Leia’s Blazing Wave affecting them for some time. They realize this is their last gamble. If they really don't want to waste all the mana Leia uses for the three auras, there is no other choice but to finish off The Great Zarkhan as soon as possible. “Zul, there's no need to hold back,” says Leia. “The monster's Elemental Resistance has been decreased. As long as you don't throw your ice magic directly at its flames, your magic can still hurt that monster.” “Yes, Mam!” says Zul before he starts moving to the left flank. Gaston continues to bombard the dragon’s head from the front, while Azzim begins his madness slashing movement using his daggers from the right flank. “Listen! My mana supply won’t be enough to last for the next 2 hours,” Leia warns. The monster's large size makes it an easy target to be bullied. However, its high durability makes it so hard to knock out. On the other hand, with its large size, its attack range is quite difficult
Azzim, who doesn't have much mana, really can't fight with any special skills or techniques like the rest of his friends. What he could do so far was only to attack with ordinary physical attacks using arrows, daggers or his short swords. He has long since realized that he has been taking a wrong path for his character growth as a warrior. But he has gone too far for him to redo everything. They are already in the Sixth Trial, and their ticket to get out of that realm is imminent. It is no longer possible for him to repeat it all from the beginning. Forget about killing that monster anytime soon. He even isn’t sure he could take on the monster by himself. After all, what choice does he have now? “Looks like I really have no other choice,” he mutters. Azzim takes out a gemstone from a small pocket that is wrapped around his waist. He puts the gemstone into a special socket slot on the hilt of his magical short sword. ******************* [Notifications!] [You just installed the B
On the other hand, Zarkhan has returned to flying after having regenerated for a while. Just as Azzim is ready for his final attack, Zarkhan is also ready to leash all the heat out of his stomach. Zarkhan raises his head for a moment. He then takes it towards Azzim with his mouth wide open. A dazzling hot light comes out of the bottom of his mouth cavity. Another burst of Corrosive Breath, much more corrosive, much hotter, with far more concentrated venomous gasses than before, blows out of his mouth. It seems that Zarkhan's instinct has also been realizing it too, that he should no longer underestimate that one warrior he is currently facing. Azzim runs toward that attack with his dear life on the line, intending to block the monster's corrosive breath. Just before his body is hit by the monster's torrent, he depletes it with his sword away. His Magical Short Sword, which has been strengthened by the dense dark red plasma Azzim drew out, is able to disperse the deadly Corrosive Br
The alert system keeps appearing, showing how dire his situation currently is.********************[Alert!][Your HP has reached 3% and keeps decreasing][Your Vitality has reached 10% and continues to decline]- When your HP reaches 1%, you won't be able to move.- When your Vitality reaches 5%, your base HP regeneration rate will turn to 0 and your body will stop healing by itself.********************“Shut up!” he mumbles. And suddenly, they fall not too far from the portal. Azzim tries his best to crawl while dragging Leia along with him. But he becomes increasingly pessimistic about his chance of getting out of that place alive.“Leia, wake up. I can't drag you around like this,” Azzim cries, patting Leia's cheek again.Leia opens her eyes once more, though not fully conscious.“Then, just leave me here,” she replies with a weak voice. But then, she closes her eyes again. Azzim starts to growl, slamming his hands on the floor. He is so angry and desperate, because the portal is
Azzim realizes, his personal status has returned to the ground state, just like the first time he entered Alorexa, the simulation world he is currently in.However, he finds something odd. How could he has such a high value in Inteligence while he has such a low mana point. As far as he knew, the level of inteligence is always in line with how much mana someone has. Thought, he also knows it so well that he is not an Inteligence type warrior like Leia and Zul.But somehow, he then realizes it, that value of inteligence is not too much different than his latest intelligence value before he entered the Sixth Trial Realm.“Could it be that this number only indicates the level of insight and knowledge I have gained so far in this 10 years?” he speculates. After all, It's not like he lost his memory after he dies. He still remembers it so well how he fought the Great Zarkhan recently.Azzim gets out of the sleeping pod and rushes to find the exit. His foot accidentally hits another sleepin
Given that his only option is to retake the trial, Azzim is secretly moving to the northernmost side of Gurdat Town. He reaches to a site where there is a portal gate that is still in red color. He doesn't know when the gate will be active again. He doesn't know either when The First Trial Realm at the outside will be reset. He gets into the bushes, where he can observe the condition of the gate from a distance. He waits there while hiding his existence from the others. Some hours later, when the sky is getting darker, he hears the chattering sounds of the people he had previously met before. “Hopefully they die and be sent back here. That way, we can repay them back in the most painful way.” “But, what if they survive and then, they transfer back to this town without dying? That way, they keep their level and items. And here we are, at level 0 with just this simple white clothes. There’s no way for us to pay back what they had done to us.” There Azzim remembers, only in The Firs
The man named Zircho pulls out his dagger violently, and then laughs so sadistically, leaving Azzim on his knees while covering his bleeding belly. The other two men follow Zircho. However, the one warrior with level 14 glances back at Azzim for a moment. But then, Zircho calls for him.“Where do we go next, Lorior?” shouts the man named Zircho. As soon as that man reacts to Zircho’s call, the holographic texts above his head changes, displaying “Lv 14. The Loser No. 129 a.k.a. Lorior”.The man named Lorior, who happens to be their leader, turns and walks into the woods ahead of his friends.“Just follow me!” he says.It seems that Zircho guy has deliberately not killed Azzim immediately so that he would suffer longer. He thought, Azzim would not survive either if he just left him dying like that. However, Azzim is still alive and able to close his wound with two hands. He looks around, finding himself in the middle of a not-so-wide savanna. He hears the sound of waves crashing agains
