Ben glanced at Terry with perfectly rounded eyes, as if they were about to pop out of place. Taking Steve to Rosemary's? Has Terry lost his mind?

After Terry said that, it was silent for a while. None of the three made a sound. Only the sound of the second hand of the clock was the current source of sound.

The three adult men glanced at each other. Only the sound of heavy breathing could be heard in the ears, so soft and faint. Both Terry, Ben and Steve were lost in their own thoughts.

This silence felt strange to Ben. He was not used to being in silence even if he liked it. This silence was too awkward for him. So, Ben cleared his throat quietly to break the trapped silence between the three of them.

It worked. Steve and Terry turned to him with questioning looks. "Why are you clearing your throat like that?"
