"Since that’s what you want, I guess I will respect your decision," he said with a tinge of sadness and longing in his voice. The weight of his unspoken desires colored his words, hinting at the deep regret he carried within. The corners of his mouth curved into a bittersweet smile, concealing the lingering hope that maybe, just maybe, things would change.

With a heavy heart, Ethan rose from his seat, his eyes lingering for a moment on the frail figure of his grandfather. "I should go now, grandpa," he uttered softly, his voice filled with a combination of affection and worry. "Take care of yourself," he added, punctuating his words with genuine concern.

As he made his way towards the door, his steps intertwining with a sense of resignation, his grandfather's voice broke the silence. "Please kindly call Adriana for me on your way out," he requested, his voice holding a hint of urgency. Ethan nodded, understanding the importance of the simple task.
