"I am excited you still want to see me, at least it makes me feel better that you aren't angry at me again, even though you knew I approached you on purpose," she said, her fingers hovering momentarily over the screen of her phone.

With a decisive click, she pressed the send button and let the device slip from her grasp, returning her attention to the present.

As she did, she couldn't help but notice the sharp increase in Grandpa Richard's interest. Even though he had been engrossed in his files, his sudden engagement in the conversation was hard to miss. The corners of his lips curled subtly, signaling a mix of curiosity and intrigue.

"You look so excited, it's something I was supposed to know," he remarked, his tone carrying a hint of mystery behind the veneer of casual conversation.
