"Hmm... so you want me to make fake documents to let you join the company?" asked Carlos.
James nodded. He only told him the part of the mission that made James go all the way here. He occasionally looked in the other direction; there were some maids who seemed to be pacing around with nothing to do.
"Can you trust the people around here?" asked James, narrowing his eyes to look into the depths of the house.
"Do you suspect my maids?" asked Carlos.
"The mission I'm on is important. I don't want to take the slightest risk by ignoring my suspicions," explained James.
Carlos placed his small glass on the table, no longer pouring the brandy as he thought the effects were already starting to affect his mind if he continued.
"Don't worry. Almost all of my servants in this house know that I'm a spy," Carlos replied, smiling to try and calm James down.
The man started to stand up from his seat, making James rise to follow him. Carlos'
James said goodbye to Carlos and Eva. Both were seen standing in front of their restaurant, ushering James away. The car driven by Flynn began to drive away from the residential area. James occasionally glanced back, right where Carlos and Eva returned to the restaurant. His right hand was still clutching the piece of paper Carlos had given him, the one with Klaus' address in Denmark. He didn't want to wait any longer, afraid James would miss his trail. "Where's Zac?" asked James, curious. "I've already informed him. He'll be at the airport in 20 minutes," Samuel said, looking back to show his mobile phone. "That's great. We'll probably be travelling around Europe today. I hope you're prepared," explained James.
James waited outside the classroom, occasionally listening to the explanation from Klaus, who teaches physics. It was his expertise, designing several devices according to the laws of physics to make a machine fail to work. Apart from sabotage, his temper was built on his work as an interrogator. Not a few criminals had disabilities just because of their stubbornness and Klaus's harsh methods. "It looks like it's going to be alright. You can go back to the car," James replied. "Are you sure?" asked Flynn. James nodded. He showed the gun he had brought, making Flynn and Samuel surprised. They eventually complied with James' wishes, returning to their earlier places and leaving the man alone in the campus hallway. After ab
"Take this," Klaus said, handing over a piece of paper with something written on it. James accepts the paper, seeing that what's written on it is an address. Klaus had written down the address of Lara's home in Turkey to make it easier for James to find her. He nodded, putting the paper into his trouser pocket for use. The conversation between him and Klaus ended, he said goodbye to the man. James stepped out of Klaus's office, looked out over the campus, and saw the city skyline turning dusk, a sign that time was running out and night was about to come. Flynn and Samuel were waiting at the campus gate, James' arrival attracting their attention to approach him immediately. "What do we do now?" asked Flynn, curious. "Tell Zac, ask him about his condition. We might go to another place," replied James. "I'll do it," said Samuel. The man took out his phone and dialed Zac, who was immediately picked up by the Lawrence Family
"How did you know my home?" asked Lara, sitting next to James as she wrapped a bandage around James' injured arm. "Carlos told me you were in Turkey; Klaus gave me your home address," James replied. "Oh, so you visited them both before coming here?" asked Lara. James nodded. There were no truly fatal wounds on his body, only scratches and cuts from the booby traps in this house. James' two bodyguards chose to wait downstairs; they obeyed the man not to be on the second floor. Lara was seen tying the bandages and putting the finishing touches on the treatment. After everything was done, she returned the medical equipment to the box. "I heard you had a joint training with the intelligence agency in this place?" asked James. "It ended two days ago," Lara replied, looking back at where she was already packing her suitcase. "I'm actually heading home tomorrow. My sister is in hospital," Lara said. Between Carlos and Klaus, L
"So, what's your purpose for seeing me?" asked Lara, sitting in the copilot's seat next to James. "Major Gilbert gave me a mission after two years of waiting. This mission is related to the abuse of DD pills," said James. "DD pills? I feel like I've heard of it before," Lara said. "It's a green-colored drug; the effect of taking the pill is hallucinations," said James. "There have been many victims in Carran because of this drug. If I don't stop it soon, seven generations will be destroyed," James continued. Lara's eyes widened, not expecting the effects of drug use to be that bad. Since both were focused on carrying the plane, James would tell Lara many details of the mission when they arrived at Lawrence's residence.
Eight hours later. James woke up with a headache, his eyes seemingly spinning endlessly around him. He saw he was already in the room of his residence, with food and drink served on the nightstand near the bed. There were three bowls with different fillings; one bowl contained bread, and the remaining two were soup and grapes. A glass, along with the bowls, seemed to be kept on the nightstand. James looked up at his room, clearly seeing it was already 1 p.m. James picked up the glass and drank the water in it. "Is Lara coming home?" asked James, curious. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, drinking from the glass. The bedroom door opened, and two maids walked in carrying different trays. Lara and Carlos were standing looking at the whiteboard; none of the people in the displayed photos were known. James alone was busy looking for a mini-projector to show the mission details to the two. "There are three people with the name Rosewood here. Are they involved in this case?" Lara asked James. "From what I can tell, they are involved with each other," James replied. "Oh, now I understand why Major Gilbert asked you to marry one of the Rosewoods," said Lara. James walked from another room, the tool room, to his office. His right hand seemed to hold a box-shaped mini-projector with a small glass ball in the center. "Prime," James called out, activating the AI system that had been on standby. [Prime activated] [Is there anything you need, Mr Lawrence?] "Please copy the entire mission data to the mini USB," explained James, sitting on the single-seat sofa while looking at the glasses lens. "Is Lorenzo's mission unfinished?" James asked Carlos. "I think so. He said he got the mission three weeks ago, so he'll probably catch up with us in the next one or two weeks," Carlos replied. "He'll understand when he comes here," said James. James sat on the single-seat sofa, staring at his laptop and a mini projector. Carlos sat alone to his right while Klaus sat on the long sofa close to Lara. "Before we go on this mission and split up the tasks, I need to ensure you don't have anything important to leave out, right?" James asked. "Eva can run the restaurant with her waiters. I'm ready for this one," Carlos replied. James smiled, his head circling to look at Lara and Klaus. Lara didn't mind, as long as the mission area was only in Carran. Besides being close to the hospital where her sister was being treated, Cerbero didn't dare approach this area. "As long as Cerbero doesn't follow me here, I'll do it," Lara said.
Once everything was ready, James, Lara, and Lorenzo stepped out of his study. They went past Amelia and Ruth, who were still confused and anxious about what was happening. They followed James and his two colleagues again, getting into the elevator in turn and then going to the front door of Lawrence's house. Their eyes watched James get into a white sedan."Should I send Lawrence's bodyguards there?" asked Amelia, wanting to help.James stopped what he was doing, standing beside the white sedan whose door was open. His head turned to the left, looking at Amelia and Ruth, who were standing side by side."There's no need. We can handle it," James said."Be careful," said Ruth, looking full of fear. "Oh, I see," James said.He had realized the Carran government would play along with the High Roses. Klaus interrogated Gilbert for seven hours, which was quite a struggle since Gilbert was military man. However, the more he held back, the more painful the torture Klaus gave him. In the fifth hour since the start of the interrogation, Gilbert began to reveal information about the High Roses and the Carran government."They intend to sell the vaccine for 50 Carra," Gilbert replied."That price is too high for the people to afford, especially people from the low middle class," Lara said."The government tried to negotiate the price, but there was no agreement between them," Gilbert said."If that is done, the patients from the poorer will die," James said."Mr. President doesn't really want to negotiate with criminals, but he has no other choice," Gilbert said.James sighed softly. He stepped closer to Lara and the others who werChapter 54 - Full Alert
It was a delicious and enjoyable breakfast, especially in the presence of a loved one. Caroline said the food was delicious, and she wanted to eat again tomorrow; James would gladly accompany her. James glanced at his watch, seeing that it was half past eight in the morning. Caroline had to leave so she wouldn't be late, and so did James. "I'll drive you," Caroline said. "Your office is quite far; it takes twenty minutes to get there," James said. "I can walk. You don't have to worry about me," said James. "Are you sure?" asked Caroline. James cleared his throat and nodded. His right hand lightly rubbed the woman's cheek before him, trying to convince Caroline that the woman
***The next day.Because of yesterday's incident, James decided not to come to work today. He informed Iris on his phone that he would not be coming to work. That morning, James was still at the Rosewood residence with Caroline. Over the past few days, Caroline's attitude had changed so favorably towards him, even though there were other men trying to win his heart. But Caroline never paid any attention to him. She may have been friendly to him, but Caroline's heart was entirely for James. On the bed, between the two of them, is Edmund, who sleeps peacefully, as if he feels protected. James had never directly interacted with Edmund, but strangely, the boy seemed to feel close to Caroline's husband.
"No way," said James, unable to hide his surprise when he heard from Thiago that Jayden was an HG."Do you know him?" asked Klaus."He's my coworker. I never thought he was an HG," James said.Klaus nodded. He felt how hard it must have been for James to find out that one of his coworkers he knew was his current enemy. The man walked back to the long sofa. He sat down and placed his phone carelessly on the table, his expression still shocked."A few days earlier, I met with him. He said he had a reliable coworker," Thiago said."I didn't expect it to be you. What an interesting coincidence," Thiago said."SHIT!"
Lorenzo and Lara take Thiago to the second floor of James' lakeside residence. Klaus and Carlos wait on the second floor, preparing to carry out the interrogation of Thiago. From the direction of the stairs, Lorenzo appears, holding both of Thiago's hands. He brought the man upstairs with Thiago's bruised face and body."Welcome, Mr. Thiago," greeted James, standing up as he leaned against his wooden desk."Who the hell are you? What do you want from me?" Thiago asked.James didn't answer that question. Instead, he ordered Lorenzo to place Thiago in the center of the room, sitting with his feet and hands bound. He and Lara began to bind Thiago so the man could not easily escape. Carlos and Klaus sat on a long sofa, staring at
The trio walked from the first floor to the second floor, where the investigation was conducted by James and his colleagues. As time passed, piles of papers and investigation documents filled almost all the tables in the room.Klaus had to admit something: the spy assignment this time was complicated and could take a long time to complete.James also thought the same, especially since the people involved in it were quite a lot with their respective tasks. The man could only hope this mission could be completed before the deadline given by the government, two years.Just as James was looking at the whiteboard with the mission information, his phone rang. James' right hand reached into his trouser pocket, retrieving his phone."Who is it?" asked Klaus, curious.
The elevator doors opened; luckily, nobody was in the lobby, so no one saw the pile of unconscious men inside the elevator.James walked out quickly, stepping away from the place as soon as possible. He occasionally looked back, making sure no one was following him."Prime," James said, at once reactivating his AI system that was originally in standby mode.[Prime Activated][Is there something you need, Mr. Lawrence?]"I need you to find the location of Dr. Issac's house. "Tch! No matter how much I ask, you will always be evasive," Issac said. The middle-aged man complained as he sighed softly. His right hand seemed to be massaging his left temple lightly, trying to ease the headache that was happening in his head in response to something as complicated as this."You are finally starting to understand me, Mr. Issac," James said.Issac fell silent right before James, the man's eyes watching James' movements. Issac sat back in his chair, as did James. He turned his head to the right, telling the two big men in black suits to leave. They, for some reason, obeyed Issac's orders."Let's keep it simple," Issac said."We'll pretend this conversation was n
