The next day.
James arrived at the Eclipse building, in the parking lot, to be exact. From the entrance, many people with cameras and mics were gathered in front of the office.
The man caught a glimpse of them as he entered the building. The security guards tried to guide the journalists to wait; Eclipse would speak through a spokesperson.
James got out of his black sedan, walking in with a black suit, white shirt, and black trousers, typical of businessmen.
The entrance door from the direction of the parking lot opened, James' eyes saw that the staff were also standing in the lobby, talking to each other about the issues that were spreading in the place.
"What's going on?" as
"Tch! No matter how much I ask, you will always be evasive," Issac said. The middle-aged man complained as he sighed softly. His right hand seemed to be massaging his left temple lightly, trying to ease the headache that was happening in his head in response to something as complicated as this."You are finally starting to understand me, Mr. Issac," James said.Issac fell silent right before James, the man's eyes watching James' movements. Issac sat back in his chair, as did James. He turned his head to the right, telling the two big men in black suits to leave. They, for some reason, obeyed Issac's orders."Let's keep it simple," Issac said."We'll pretend this conversation was n
The elevator doors opened; luckily, nobody was in the lobby, so no one saw the pile of unconscious men inside the elevator.James walked out quickly, stepping away from the place as soon as possible. He occasionally looked back, making sure no one was following him."Prime," James said, at once reactivating his AI system that was originally in standby mode.[Prime Activated][Is there something you need, Mr. Lawrence?]"I need you to find the location of Dr. Issac's house. Log in to the Eclipse system and find the address from the database of this place," James ordered.[Command received][Starts accessing Eclipse's local network syste
The trio walked from the first floor to the second floor, where the investigation was conducted by James and his colleagues. As time passed, piles of papers and investigation documents filled almost all the tables in the room.Klaus had to admit something: the spy assignment this time was complicated and could take a long time to complete.James also thought the same, especially since the people involved in it were quite a lot with their respective tasks. The man could only hope this mission could be completed before the deadline given by the government, two years.Just as James was looking at the whiteboard with the mission information, his phone rang. James' right hand reached into his trouser pocket, retrieving his phone."Who is it?" asked Klaus, curious.
Lorenzo and Lara take Thiago to the second floor of James' lakeside residence. Klaus and Carlos wait on the second floor, preparing to carry out the interrogation of Thiago. From the direction of the stairs, Lorenzo appears, holding both of Thiago's hands. He brought the man upstairs with Thiago's bruised face and body."Welcome, Mr. Thiago," greeted James, standing up as he leaned against his wooden desk."Who the hell are you? What do you want from me?" Thiago asked.James didn't answer that question. Instead, he ordered Lorenzo to place Thiago in the center of the room, sitting with his feet and hands bound. He and Lara began to bind Thiago so the man could not easily escape. Carlos and Klaus sat on a long sofa, staring at
"No way," said James, unable to hide his surprise when he heard from Thiago that Jayden was an HG."Do you know him?" asked Klaus."He's my coworker. I never thought he was an HG," James said.Klaus nodded. He felt how hard it must have been for James to find out that one of his coworkers he knew was his current enemy. The man walked back to the long sofa. He sat down and placed his phone carelessly on the table, his expression still shocked."A few days earlier, I met with him. He said he had a reliable coworker," Thiago said."I didn't expect it to be you. What an interesting coincidence," Thiago said."SHIT!"
***The next day.Because of yesterday's incident, James decided not to come to work today. He informed Iris on his phone that he would not be coming to work. That morning, James was still at the Rosewood residence with Caroline. Over the past few days, Caroline's attitude had changed so favorably towards him, even though there were other men trying to win his heart. But Caroline never paid any attention to him. She may have been friendly to him, but Caroline's heart was entirely for James. On the bed, between the two of them, is Edmund, who sleeps peacefully, as if he feels protected. James had never directly interacted with Edmund, but strangely, the boy seemed to feel close to Caroline's husband.
It was a delicious and enjoyable breakfast, especially in the presence of a loved one. Caroline said the food was delicious, and she wanted to eat again tomorrow; James would gladly accompany her. James glanced at his watch, seeing that it was half past eight in the morning. Caroline had to leave so she wouldn't be late, and so did James. "I'll drive you," Caroline said. "Your office is quite far; it takes twenty minutes to get there," James said. "I can walk. You don't have to worry about me," said James. "Are you sure?" asked Caroline. James cleared his throat and nodded. His right hand lightly rubbed the woman's cheek before him, trying to convince Caroline that the woman
"Oh, I see," James said.He had realized the Carran government would play along with the High Roses. Klaus interrogated Gilbert for seven hours, which was quite a struggle since Gilbert was military man. However, the more he held back, the more painful the torture Klaus gave him. In the fifth hour since the start of the interrogation, Gilbert began to reveal information about the High Roses and the Carran government."They intend to sell the vaccine for 50 Carra," Gilbert replied."That price is too high for the people to afford, especially people from the low middle class," Lara said."The government tried to negotiate the price, but there was no agreement between them," Gilbert said."If that is done, the patients from the poorer will die," James said."Mr. President doesn't really want to negotiate with criminals, but he has no other choice," Gilbert said.James sighed softly. He stepped closer to Lara and the others who wer
