Chapter 04 - The Athletes

Darrin only exerted a little effort. Yet, he could feel that he could run very fast.

"This is truly amazing! I feel tens of times fresher after the system worked wonders on my body!"

Darrin began to enter the field when a group of marathon athletes entered the same field.

They all looked tall and sturdy. They also wore the best running outfits and shoes.

As the star athletes of Starlight University, it was reasonable for them to receive special treatment. However, this made them somewhat selfish and despicable towards other students.

"Hey, kid, if you have no shame running in the same place as us, then go ahead! But, let me remind you, anyone who runs with us must try to stay close to us!"

They said this just to intimidate Darrin. Moreover, it wasn't the first time they had done it.

Every time they trained, whether on any faculty grounds, they would say the same thing to other students.

"If you can't keep your distance close to us, we'll do something that will make you regret it! Hahaha!"

Without saying more, the ten marathon runners began to run around the field.

Elsewhere, students who saw the presence of these athletes couldn't hide their excitement.

"Wow! The marathon athletes are coming to our faculty! That loser Darrin is sure to suffer even more! Hahaha!"

These students were very confident that Darrin wouldn't be able to keep up with the athletes.

Nevertheless, they were also sure that Darrin wouldn't leave the field because it was a punishment he had to complete.

Imagining that Darrin would have one of the worst days of his life, all the students cheered with great joy.

"Finally, my revenge is paid off today! That annoying jerk must faint from running, and after he wakes up, he will be beaten by the athletes! Hahaha!"

In the field, Darrin initially wasn't interested in taking on the challenge of the athletes. Therefore, he only ran at a slow speed, causing him to lag far behind the athletes.

However, after a third of the field, he felt something he had never experienced before with his body. Not only did he not feel tired or exhausted, Darrin didn't even sweat at all, even though he was wearing quite thick clothes.

"In fact, how strong is my body?"

Darrin became curious to test the strength of his body further.

"Stupid! Why didn't I think of this earlier!"

He muttered, tapping his own forehead. The presence of the athletes should have been something he could use to see how far his strength went.

Darrin moved his legs faster.

In just a few seconds, he was able to significantly reduce the distance with the athletes.

When he was no more than three meters behind them, he thought he should have been slightly out of breath. But his assumption was wrong.

His breath still flowed smoothly as if his body was accustomed to such heavy and intense activity.

Darrin realized that he hadn't even used half of his energy yet. If he could catch up with these athletes with just a little of his energy, what if he used half or even all of his energy until he was out of breath?

"Hmm, it seems I can use them!"

With such thoughts in mind, he moved sideways and then passed the athletes, something that seemed impossible for other students to do.

Of course, what Darrin did made the athletes look at him angrily.

"Stupid! How dare he mock us! Doesn't he know who he's dealing with?"

As if that wasn't enough, Darrin turned his body backward, making him run backward.

"Hey, didn't you all say I shouldn't be too far from you? Now, what if I say the same thing? Are you all okay if you run behind me? If not, try to chase me!"
