Chapter 51

At Evelyn's house, Maverick was silent and could not make a sound.

"Maverick," Evelyn called softly.

"Hmmm," said Maverick, who was still concentrating on driving.

"Hmmm, are you..."

"Let's stop by there first!"

Maverick invited Evelyn to stop by a small café in a row of shophouses along the road they travelled.

Evelyn just complied. She said it would be better than the two of them talking while Maverick was driving the car. It could jeopardise both of their safety if Maverick were not concentrating.
