Chapter Twenty-six

She gave a sharp look around, Natalie's gaze settling on her step-sister.

Wayne sneered and looked away. "What do I mean?" Debbie's hand swatted across her shoulder. "Don't be dumb!"

Natalie scoffed, jerking herself from her. "How did it ever happen that you are still here?!"

"So rude! As if you will last a day without me to guide you." Mrs Debbie raised her voice to reprimand Natalie.

"Don't worry mum, Natalie here must be finding it hard to believe, Dad has always reckoned on hrs but now he is taken back what is his. But if Natalie is so stupid to reclaim what is hers I wouldn't mind."

Natalie chuckled and this raised a frown from everyone. "Well, if it so pleases you, you have always wanted the position after all, fix my ruins Wayne and I would be convinced that you have grown past your rainbows."

Having lived with them and obeying everything they tell her Natalie knows how conceited and selfish they could be, especially pushing responsibility on her at times like this.
