Large brick walls divided the entire area with a high arch ceiling. From inside that tunnel there were windows which allowed them to see the outside, that caused everyone to discomfort and panic.“What the hell is this place?”Arnold screams, pulling his hair because certain parts of of the room had turned topsy-turvy, together with the people that were trying to get out of it.They even saw some of their companions moving around in the opposite direction and were upside down, which only made things harder to grasp.“Fuck, I think I’m gonna be sick.”Dereck groaned, grabbing hold of his mouth to stop his lunch from coming out. Some areas seem to turn when stared at for long periods of time, which only caused them to get dizzy by looking at it.“Where’s the boss?”Melo noticed they got separated from their leader after hours of going in and out of the place, trying to find the exit to that accursed maze.“I’m over here.”A voice boomed, causing everyone to look up at the large window.
Once all nine of the power users gathered, they return to the starting area of the maze, choosing an entrance on the far left, with a marking that shown the roman numeral one. After entering, they continued traversing the halls of that path, stopping for the fourth time.“This is it.”Bernard gave out a wide smile after they reached an open space where the road split into two, here they saw the other interconnecting parts of the maze, with a large free area in what seems to be the middle o it with a floating circular platform.“What do you mean? We just went in circles.”Bruno groaned, stomping his feet upon seeing the same location with the same view.“That’s the thing, we didn’t.”The lad says, showing the widest and most teasing grin he could.“Say that again?”Dereck raised a brow, then stares at the other, noticing the confidence that the non-power user had.He takes another quick glance at where they were, but like what his companion had assumed a while ago, they were in the sam
“Maybe we should jump?”Bernard suggests. After almost an hour of debating, searching, and wracking their brains for a solution. It was the only sane reason that he could come up with. With how the stairs were facing in their direction right now, he was certain it would be possible for them.“Are you out of your mind?”Dereck snaps, glaring at the lad for thinking of such an outrageous idea. But that did not faze the youngster, standing his ground with a firm look on his face and steady resolve.“It’s not like we’re going to end up falling. Didn’t you say it yourself, worst that could happen is ending up floating for hours until we land on an open area?”Bernard pointed out that detail that gave him the idea for that plan.If that was true, then even he who had little physical prowess should not have any problems jumping onto the platform from that distance.Everybody quieted down, each of them suddenly contemplating on what the lad had said.“I think he might have a point there.”It
Somewhere within the labyrinth, an area had turned into a complete inferno. The platform, along with the pathway, was now covered in that hot flaming lava. After being taken hostage last time, sergeant Raynald Sanchez seized the chance of being encased in that maze to hone his skill. He took advantage of the almost void and limitless space within the place to test some of his new skills, seeking to further increase his power to avoid getting captured again.Of course, there was also the careful analysis of his surrounding which allowed him to move as far from the others as he can.A plan he had devised from the beginning as he wanted to train and search for the ability user at the same time.On another side, the group of females, led by their mistress Selena Valdemar, were meticulously doing the same, but with a different intention in mind. They were still trying to give chase to the man, along with focusing on snatching the victory for themselves. With many battle type users, they wo
“Fuck, what happened? I thought you said there would not be any problem?”Dereck was screaming at his companions at the top of his lungs. All of them were running around, picking things up. Some were trying to re-align the puzzle to check if another key would appear.Others were breaking the platform apart, which did little since the thing keeps getting reconstructed. But that did not hold them from rampaging because of the disappearance of their member.“I didn’t see you do anything!”Arnold snaps back, as the guy kept pestering him while he was trying to check and determine what had caused the whole scenario.“Calm down. It could be part of the puzzle thing. We only have to think this through.”Melo tried to tell them. But her voice fell on deaf ears as everybody was in disarray, each one panicking to do something.“What are we going to explain to the boss?”Julie was sobbing, unable to hold her tears now. Thinking of the worst things that could happen to the guy that vanished.“We
It had been almost an hour since the person walk out on them, and everyone was itching to start. Not one individual left, as the daughter of Lilith was confident enough that they could take on the challenge, while the black thirteen were unyielding, having won the first contest.“You just had to piss off the one person you shouldn’t.”Raynald grumbled as the woman approached him while they waited for the mask individual to come back.“At least things seem to have gotten more exciting.”Selena cooed, giggling at the thought that they would no longer play around like before. She’d opted they have an actual fight, rather than waste their time on some stupid game, as she was certain they could overpower the mask people with their numbers.“You really have no idea who you are messing with here.”The soldier state, his face showing a smirk at the cluelessness of the woman. For the longest time, that he had fought with the gang leader. He was well aware of how cautious she was, and seeing he
After they gave them a five-minute leeway to prepare, Raynald orders his entire gang to retreat. Not wasting any time staying there, bolting out without a second thought, knowing what was to come. That, of course, received backlash from the other group, as a lot of them laughed out loud, seeing how they ran away from the place, rushing straight into the maze.At first, there was a bit of resistance from some members on his team, not liking the idea of running from a fight. But they eventually kept up the phase when the time limit ended. The sounds of battle, along with screams of shock and agony, echoed through the halls. And it did not take long before an entire platoon of those armored knights began chasing after them.“Where the fuck did those guys come from?”Dereck snarls. From the looks of it, their enemies multiplied even more. From their count of about a hundred a while ago. The number that was on their tail right now amounted to about a thousand or more.It felt like they wer
It didn’t take long before the entire maze became overrun with those armored knights, and it even went to where they had reached the zone where they could traverse the floating island. But before any of them could reach the ladder reaching for them, all the said beings stopped. As if their batteries had run out.“Is it over?”Dereck asks.He and the other battle types were at the front, with their powers at the ready. Flames out in arms, standing bravely alongside their boss.“It seems that way.”Arnold mumbled because of the abrupt silence all around them.As Raynald’s gaze wandered through the maze, he could no longer feel any signs of the multitude of energy that lingered in the air.“All right. Looks like we’re good to go.”He says, noticing the sudden appearance of a glowing black orb floating in the middle of the pillars.Everyone was quick to turn around, all of them lighting upon laying their sights on the said thing.Out of excitement, the youngsters couldn’t help but touch t
