Chapter 8 : Escape From Aaron

Will sat in the house waiting for Ashley to return. Not knowing what to do next. Soon Ashley came in with an angry expression.

"What are you doing?! I told you not to make trouble! If King Arthur finds out you're here then–"

"Then you and I will be killed."

"Oh, so you memorized it? Good! I will escort you back to the Royal Caribbean tonight."

Ashley left him in another room angrily. Will ruffled his hair. Feel fool for his stupid behavior.

***.

Ashley slipped between the rocks with Will. Looked around warily if Aaron or his men were around. A mermaid swam closer. It was the mermaid who had helped Will.

"The southern part is guarded by five mermen. Aaron and the other two guards were on the east side. There were several mermaids and mermen gathered in the west. There was no one on the north side, but there was a big rock there. The guards would usually pass by the place several times. But you can hide behind the bushes while waiting for the guards to leave and start sneaking through the gaps in the two rocks. It might be a bit cramped, but it's the only way you guys can get out of here without getting caught."

"All right, Mary. Thanks for your information. Come on, we have to hurry. We don't have much time!"

The Mermaid swim away to leave the two of them.

"We were lucky, Maria was kind enough to help."

They began to move slowly while still keeping an eye on the surroundings. Until it reaches the north of the kingdom.

Maria is right. There are two towering stones. No one knows how many tens of meters high. Not even the walls of the Royal Caribbean Palace could match the height of that rock. The two guardian mermen were still there with spears in their hands. Talked to each other, before finally leaving there.

"Okay. This is our only chance."

Ashely spoke as if this was her last day to breathe. Of course, if she failed and was caught, it was certain that tomorrow her head would be separated from the body. They moved towards the rock towards the crevices. Ashley took Will's hand, slowly swimming up.

"Hey! Stop!"

Seriously! One of the guardian mermen saw it. The other guards who heard immediately chased after them including Aaron who was getting ready with his sword. Ashley was surprised and looked back. Without thinking, she took Will swimming as fast as she could.

It would be foolish to think they could outwit the truly trained mermen guards. Their strong instincts could not be fooled at all. Ashley continued to swim forward through the narrow gaps between the two rocks while Aaron and his companions continued to chase.

Aaron, the fierce-faced man showed his teeth which further added to the fierce impression on his face. His desire to capture the two of them was very real.

"I already guessed that it was you who brought the traitor in, you stupid girl!" yelled Aaron.

The squad of guards continued to chase behind as Ashley and Will began to drift away from the Lyonasse Kingdom. Will looked back, A spear with a sharp iron tip was pointed at him.

"Watch out!"

Will let go of Ashley's arms around his waist and pushed her to the left. The spear flew freely between the two of them.

"Damn it!" Aaron shouted in annoyance.

Ashley came back to Will, about to take his hand. Suddenly a hundred-year-old giant tortoise came from the front and lunged at Will. Instantly made the man lose his balance and swim freely following the path of the ocean currents.

"Will!"

Not wanting to lose the man, Ashley immediately moved to follow him. Aaron smiled slyly, thinking that this was a good opportunity. If he could get him, then Ashley would definitely turn herself in.

Seeing Aaron who was also following Will who was being swept away by the current, Ashley increased her speed. Aaron who saw this immediately gave the command code to his troops. Ashely immediately stopped her swimming pace when three mermen blocked her. Meanwhile, Aaron and the other two mermen continued to swim after Will. Ashley realized that the situation was not in her favor.

"Get out of my way! I don't have any business with you."

"No! You have brought humans to the Lyonasse Kingdom. We will bring you before King Arthur to be punished."

"I don't think so." Ashley swam off to the right leaving them.

"Chase her!" yelled Aaron.

The three mermen immediately chased after her.

They arrived at the jellyfish field. Thousands of jellyfish that have deadly stingers of various sizes swim there. There are narrow gaps between them. This is Ashley's chance to outwit the three guards.

By relying on the swimming skills and instincts she had learned, Ashley penetrated the jellyfish crowd. Several times she screamed in pain from being stung by the jellyfish's tentacles. Make some parts of the body and tail become reddish.

The three mermen stood in front of the jellyfish crowd.

"What should we do?"

"Chase her!"

The other two mermen who were behind him looked at each other.

"What are you waiting for? Go get the girl!"

"We can't go there. We will die from being stung by those jellyfish."

"Oh, so you're more afraid of jellyfish than King Arthur?"

There is no other choice. With hesitation the two mermen swam into the jellyfish pool, followed by the mermen commanding them.

Sure enough, even though they have been trained to swim and face all obstacles. But the mermen could not dodge the attacks of the jellyfish tentacles that numbered in the thousands. Moreover, some of them are giant in size. They screamed in pain every time the tentacles stung their skin and scales. Not even halfway through, the three mermen fainted in the middle of the jellyfish field.

Ashley looked back, making sure they had stopped chasing her. There was a hint of guilt for having the three guardian mermen trapped there. But she really had no other choice. Her skin and scales felt sore and hot, like a fire. Some parts are a bit swollen. But she didn't have time to care about it right now. For her, Will was the more important.

She shot through the schools of tuna swimming against the current. Disrupted their formation and plunged into the rushing water current. Maximizing energy to reach the sea estuary, where Will was supposed to be.

On the other side, Will's body continued to spin with the ocean currents. Luckily he was still able to maintain his consciousness. The man tried to keep his eyes open so he could control himself and not be caught by the royal guards. Just as he was about to see the bottom of the sea, suddenly the current turned and threw him to the left. Making him unable to control his body until he hit a large rock. Makes Will's back hurt until it bleeds.

Aaron and the two guard mermen who followed him had almost reached the estuary. They stopped right by the rock where Will was hiding. They looked around. One of the mermen saw blood floating with the water from behind the rock. He gave the code to the leader.

Aaron smiled slyly and drew the sword strapped to his waist, preparing to get his prey. Slowly he swam closer to the rock and saw what was hidden behind the rock.
