Jessica sat comfortably in the long chair, lost in thought. Meanwhile, Marco approached her from outside, his footsteps light and gentle, careful not to startle her. He snuck up behind her, a sly grin spreading across his face.

With a playful flourish, Marco covered Jessica's eyes with his hands. "Guess who," he whispered, his warm breath tickling her ear.

Jessica's lips curved into a smile as she tilted her head. "Marco," she replied, her voice confident.

Marco's hands dropped away from her eyes, and he moved to the other side of the chair, a look of surprise on his face. "How did you know it was me?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Jessica's smile deepened, and Marco leaned in, his lips brushing against her forehead in a gentle kiss.

"How can I not recognize my husband's voice?" Jessica asked, her eyes sparkling with amusement. Marco's face lit up with a warm smile. "That's true," he said, his voice filled with affection.

Just then, Alex walked in, his expression professional. "Sir, it's time to go," he said, his voice crisp, accompanied by a sharp salute.

Marco turned to Alex, returning the salute with a nod. "Thank you, Alex," he replied. Then, he turned back to Jessica, his eyes softening. He reached out, taking her hand in his, his fingers intertwining with hers.

"Please be fine for me, I'll be back in no time, just two months of work" Marco said, his voice laced with a mix of reassurance and concern. He felt a pang in his chest as he turned to leave the room, but Jessica's grip on his cloth held him back.

She followed him down to the front of the house, where the rest of the soldiers were waiting. Her eyes welled up with tears as she pleaded with him, her voice trembling. "Please stay with me," she begged, her fingers clutching at the edge of his cloth.

Marco's heart ached at the sight of his wife's tears. He tried to release his cloth from her grasp, but she held on tight. He knew he had to be strong, to reassure her that everything would be okay. With a gentle smile, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, comforting kiss.

"It's okay, my love," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I'll be back soon. I promise."

"It won't take forever, I just want to do some work. I will be back soon," Marco promised, trying to reassure her. He gave her a comforting smile before turning to enter the car, where the rest of the soldiers were waiting.

As the car door closed behind him, Marco waved his hand in a goodbye gesture. But Jessica's reaction was immediate and intense. She burst into tears, her body shaking with sobs as she ran after the car.

"Please don't leave me! Please don't leave me!" she begged, her voice hoarse from crying. She pounded on the car window, her fists clenched in desperation as she tried to get Marco's attention.

The car slowly pulled away, leaving Jessica standing alone in the driveway, her cries echoing through the air as she watched her husband disappear into the distance.

Jessica's voice was laced with desperation as she begged, "Please don't leave me!" But as she fought against the darkness of her dream, a gentle voice whispered in her ear, "I'm here, Jessica. I'm not going anywhere."

As she opened her eyes, she saw Marco's concerned face hovering above her. He was holding her hand, his fingers intertwined with hers, and he was sitting beside her on the bed. Jessica's breathing slowed as she realized she had been dreaming.

Marco's voice was soothing as he tried to calm her down. "I go nowhere, I'm always here for you and our daughter," he reassured her, his eyes filled with warmth and love.

As Jessica's heart rate returned to normal, Marco's phone suddenly rang, breaking the peaceful atmosphere. He retrieved his phone from his pocket and glanced at the screen, his expression turning serious as he saw Alex's name flashing on the display. With a gentle squeeze of Jessica's hand, Marco answered the call. "Yes, Alex?"

"Have you got him?" Marco asked, expecting a positive response. Alex's voice came through the line, calm and professional. "Yes, sir, he's in your office. You should join us."

Marco's expression turned serious as he processed the information. He turned to Jessica, who was watching him with a mix of concern and fear in her eyes. "I have to attend to something," he said gently. "I'll be back in no time."

But Jessica's grip on his hand tightened, her voice barely above a whisper. "Are you sure you're not leaving me again?" she asked, her eyes welling up with tears.

The memory of her dream still lingered, and Marco's reassurance didn't seem to be enough to calm her fears. Marco's expression softened, and he pulled her into a gentle hug. "I promise, Jessica. I'll be right back. I'm not leaving you."

"I love you and I'm not ready to go anywhere without you, so be calm," Marco whispered, his voice filled with reassurance. "I am within the base, it's just work," he added, trying to alleviate her fears.

Jessica's grip on his hand relaxed slightly, and Marco took advantage of the moment to call for the soldier nurse who had been attending to her. "Please stay with my wife and give her anything she asks for," he instructed the nurse.

The nurse, a stern-looking woman with a kind face, nodded promptly. "Yes, sir," she replied, her voice firm and professional, accompanied by a crisp salute.

Marco smiled, feeling a sense of relief that Jessica would be well taken care of while he was away. He leaned in to kiss her forehead once more before standing up to leave.

Marco left the room and walked to the parking area within the base. He got into his car and drove the short distance to his office. After a brief drive, he arrived and stepped out of the car. As he walked towards the palace, the soldiers he met along the way snapped to attention, saluting him.

Marco entered the office, where he found Jackson seated in a chair. Alex stood nearby, flanked by two soldiers. As soon as Marco stepped inside, the entire group sprang to attention, their hands flying up in a synchronized salute. Jackson, too, rose from his seat, joining in the salute.

Marco's voice was firm but calm as he instructed the two soldiers, "You're dismissed." The soldiers nodded in unison, their hands rising to their foreheads in a crisp salute before they turned and exited the room, leaving Marco, Alex, and Jackson alone.

Marco walked over to the table, his footsteps echoing softly in the quiet room. He pulled out a chair and positioned it in front of Jackson, the scrape of the chair legs against the floor the only sound breaking the silence. Marco sat down, his eyes locking onto Jackson's as he leaned back in his chair.

For several moments, Marco simply gazed at Jackson, his expression unreadable. The air was thick with tension, the only sound the quiet hum of the air conditioning vent above. Alex stood silently, his eyes fixed on Marco, waiting for him to speak. Jackson, too, remained still, his eyes locked onto Marco's, a hint of curiosity flickering in their depths.

Marco's eyes narrowed slightly as he leaned forward, his voice taking on a serious tone. "So, Jackson, tell me what you know about my family's plans to remove your wife's kidney to replace their sick sister's at the hospital."

Jackson's expression changed in an instant, his eyes widening in shock as he struggled to process the revelation that Jessica was Marco's wife. He had never expected this twist, and his mind racing to come up with a response.

"I...I don't know what you're talking about, sir," Jackson stammered, trying to sound convincing despite the panic rising up inside him. "I've been busy with work, I don't know anything about any plans to remove...to remove anyone's kidney."

Marco's gaze remained fixed intently on Jackson, his eyes searching for any sign of deception. Alex, too, watched Jackson closely, his expression unreadable. The air in the room seemed to grow even thicker, the tension between them almost palpable.

Marco's eyes flicked to Alex, a silent communication passing between them before he turned his attention back to Jackson. His voice was firm but controlled as he asked, "Are you sure you know nothing about it?"

Jackson's expression was a picture of innocence, his eyes wide with conviction. "Yes, sir, I know nothing about it. Because I know what this means in our work, we can't force someone to donate their kidney," he said, his tone dripping with righteousness.

Marco's gaze narrowed slightly, his eyes boring into Jackson's as he pressed on. "But you do know your sister needed a kidney?"

Jackson's composure faltered for a moment before he regained control. "Yes, I know that. But I've told them time and time again that we should keep working on getting a donor, since it's difficult to find a match," he said, his voice laced with a hint of defensiveness.

The air in the room seemed to vibrate with tension, the silence between them thick with unspoken questions. Alex's eyes remained fixed on Jackson, his expression unreadable. Marco's gaze, however, never wavered, his eyes burning with an intensity that made Jackson shift uncomfortably in his seat.

Marco's voice dripped with sarcasm as he asked, "So, is that why you've decided to use my wife's kidney?" The implication was clear, and Jackson's eyes widened in alarm.

"Never, sir!" Jackson protested, his hands rising in a defensive gesture. "All I do is check online for donors. Since my sister has a rare blood type, it's been difficult to find a match."

Marco's expression remained skeptical, but he nodded curtly. "So, show me your proof and the history of your search."

Jackson hesitated for a moment before pulling out his phone and handing it over to Marco. Marco's fingers flew across the screen as he scrolled through the phone's contents, his eyes scanning the information with a practiced intensity.

As he delved deeper into the phone, Marco's expression changed, his eyes narrowing as he took a deep breath. The silence in the room grew thicker, the tension between them almost palpable.

"So, are you telling me you really know nothing about this?" Marco's voice was laced with skepticism. "Plus, your brother shooting my wife right in front of me? That's quite a coincidence, don't you think?"

Jackson's eyes darted back and forth, his face a mask of innocence. "That boy, I told him severally to let me handle this and talk to the doctors overseas, but he would never listen. I didn't have any idea he was planning to do any of this."

Marco's gaze bore into Jackson's, his eyes flashing with a hint of anger. "Okay, I'll spare you the drama. I don't intend to punish a non-offender because I am always just and fair." His voice took on a warning tone. "But let me make one thing clear: you know who I am. I am a God of War, and I can do anything to bring you down from your Cooperate post. You have a long way to go before you can even think about becoming a God of War, so don't joke with me."

The air in the room seemed to vibrate with the weight of Marco's words, his authority and power palpable. Alex watched with interest, his eyes fixed on Jackson's face, waiting to see how he would react to Marco's warning. Jackson's expression, meanwhile, had turned pale, his eyes wide with a mix of fear and respect.

"Yes, sir," Jackson replied, his voice laced with a hint of fear as he accepted his phone back from Marco.

Marco's expression turned cold, his eyes glinting with a hint of menace. "I need one thing from you, or else I'll be dragging your entire family into this," he threatened, his voice low and even.

Jackson's eyes widened, his face paling at the prospect. "What's that, sir?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly.

"I need you to provide me with Daniel within 48 hours," Marco said, his eyes boring into Jackson's. "With that, we'll be on good terms."

Jackson nodded eagerly, his face set in a determined expression. "I'll make sure to bring Daniel to you myself, sir," he promised, his voice filled with conviction.

Marco's gaze lingered on Jackson's face, searching for any sign of deception. But Jackson's expression seemed genuine, and Marco's instincts told him that Jackson was telling the truth. He seemed to truly know nothing about the plot against Marco and his wife. Marco's expression softened slightly, his eyes narrowing as he nodded.
