Austin and Kemisola returned to the base camp when the sun was about to set. When they got to the gate, it was closed and two soldiers watched them from the first tent. "State your business," one of the soldiers inquired.

Austin opened his mouth to say something, but Kemisola beat him to it. "We are from the Mecianda team," she announced.

The soldiers whispered amongst each other before opening the gate. When they entered the base camp, all the five-team leaders stood outside waiting for them.

"You've decided to show up," Justin, team leader of Canada, walked up to Austin. "You killed six soldiers."

"That's not what I said," Tammy said, coming to stand in between them. "I said we lost six soldiers, not what you said." He corrected.

"Whether he did it or whatever, is not the point. We have lost six soldiers already because of him." Michael, team leader of the USA, pointed out.

"Last time I checked, you weren't there and you have no right to blame me." Austin spoke out. He was pissed off where he stood, but he held the burning anger in his fist.

We were supposed to fight this war together, but I guess it's over for you now. You only have seven soldiers left. " Justin mocked

"What are we going to do with them? No one is helping you out. You and your remaining team can deal with your problems yourselves." Michael added.

"We never asked for help!" Kemisola shouted. She walked to where the leaders stood and grabbed Austin's hand. "You are all blaming him for something he didn't do intentionally."

"What I heard was different," Justin said, and looked at Tammy.

"That's the problem! I don't care about what you heard. Austin didn't do anything wrong. Blame him all you can, but he is fighting to end these creatures just like you! " Kemisola then said and dragged Austin away into their tents.

"I guess she is right," Jamal said as he watched them go inside.

"I hope they realize that no one is helping them when the need arises," Justin admitted and walked into his tent.

When Austin and Kemisola got into their tent, Austin jerked his hand free from Kemisola's. "I never asked for your help." He shouted at her. The rest of the soldiers who were lying in their spots stood up as soon as they walked in. They all saluted Austin except for Kelly, who didn't bother to rise from where he lay.

"At ease," Austin said to them and turned to face Kemisola. "Stay the hell away from me from now on." He said and walked out of the tent.

"You okay?" Okie asked her.

"I'm good. I have dealt with something much worse than this. Where is Tannia? " Kemisola questioned Okie about the little boy they helped.

"He is with Chelsea," Okie answered.

Is everyone fine? Does anyone need medical attention? Sammie, are you okay now?" Kemisola asked.

"My hand hurt, but Chelsea patched it up." He answered.

"Good. Guys, I have something to tell you all." Kemisola said to the soldiers. "We found an underground building."

"You and who found what?" Okie inquired.

Kemisola demonstrates the underground building using her hand. "It was found by Espresso and me."

"What's the point?" Kemisola, who seemed to be pretty interested in what Kelly had to say, moved closer to where he stood.

"Espresso and I figure it could be where it all started from," Kemsola explained.

"What if it is a trap?" Tony questioned.

Kemisola bit her lip and raised her hands in defeat." I'm not sure, but if Espresso says...." She tried to explain but was cut off by Kelly.

"You speak of espresso as if he were a God. He is responsible for the deaths of six soldiers. " He stated

"He was not responsible for anybody's death." Kemisola defended.

"Easy for you to say." Lenny said. "Gabriella and Ella were my friends." He heaved a sigh and ran a hand through his hair.  "Although Daniel and I didn't bond, he was still a good friend of mine." He confessed. "If espresso had listened to that little boy, then we wouldn't have been missing any soldiers by now."

"Why are you all blaming him?" Kemisola couldn't believe the team blamed Austin for the deaths of the soldiers. "He just wanted to get rid of the creatures."

"And he got rid of two soldiers," Kelly added. "There is no point. Whatever suicide mission Espresso is planning, count me out. We are here to find out the source, but I will never trust Austin's word again. "

"I'm in support of Lungo." Okie supported Kelly. Kemisola heaved a deep sigh and looked into the eyes of all the soldiers. They were determined and nothing was going to change their mind now.

Kemisola walked out of the tent in anger and bumped into Austin, who was at the entrance of the tent and had listened to all the conversations his team had. "I guessed you heard everything. Sort it out," she said to him and walked towards the Nigeria Tent. The Nigeria tent was different from theirs as their beds were bunk beds and all the soldiers lay on their respective beds. Two bunk beds were empty, and Kemisola found herself staring at the bed for a long time.

"It belonged to Rose and Temi," a male soldier said from behind her. "Your team leader is responsible for their death, as we were told." The soldier added

Kemisola shut her eyes and didn't reply to the soldiers. Instead, she walked outside and cried her heart out. The tears she had been holding ever since she found Gabriella dead streamed down her face.

"Crying isn't going to wake them up." A cold but soft voice sounded opposite her. "Everyone is going to die."

Kemisola ignored the man in front of her and continued to cry. "I lost my family to the creatures." The man said sadly. "When I found my family, they had already turned into the creature." The man stood up from where he sat and walked towards Kemisola. He stretched forth his hand for Kemisola to take. "I'm Weki from the Canada team." He introduced himself.

"Kemisola," she said, happily accepting the handshake. She observed the man but didn't find any soldier features in him. Weki was a slender man with a bit of muscle in his arms. He was 2 inches taller than Kemisola, who was 5 feet 3 inches. "You are a soldier too?" Kemisola couldn't help but ask Weki the question.

"More like a tech guy."he said. "

I'm good with swords. " Weki pointed to his back. There on his back was a sword attached to his clothing. "I'm good with computers and swords."

"How are you a soldier?"

"Because I have what it takes to be a soldier." Weki assumes.

Kemisola shook her head in disbelief. To her, Weki looked like a regular guy. His blonde hair was stylishly permed, and his plump pink lips made him look like a flirt. His charming green eyes didn't stand out. "You look like a regular guy." She pointed out

Instead of replying, Weki pulled a device from his pocket. It was like a phone, but the device was a detector. "They are here," Weki announced.

"What is here?" Kemisola questioned Her legs and hands trembled as she waited for what was yet to come.

"The creatures," Weki replied in a low tone.

"We could get them like we did the other day, right?" Kenisola hoped.

We shook his head and pointed to the device in his hand. "They are coming like a pack!"

Kemisola gasped and rushed to every tent to announce the bad news. "The creatures are here!" The USA tent was the first she entered. Next, she entered the Canadian tent, followed by the Pakistani tent. By the time she got to Nigeria's tent, an alarm had sounded.

"All soldiers should report to the gate now! We have an incoming in ten seconds! " A loud voice was announced through a transmitter. Soldiers rushed out of their tents with different weapons. Ten soldiers positioned themselves at the front of the gate while the rest stood behind them. Austin was among those who stood at the front of the gate.

"Remember to aim for their heads!" Austin reminded them.

Massive footsteps could be heard as the creatures grew nearer. The soldiers waited patiently as the creature came closer. "Fire!" A voice commanded the soldiers, and it belonged to no one else but Austin. The creatures trooped in and attacked, but the soldiers were quick to get to them. Austin made sure he aimed for the heads of the soldiers he saw. Weki took out his sword, and even in the dark, it was glistening. With every creature coming towards him, Weki made sure his sword sliced their heads smoothly.

The creatures' numbers grew as they fought them. They rushed into the base like they were searching for someone. "Somebody help me!" Jamal shouted as four naked creatures surrounded him. His bullet had finished and there was nothing he could do other than to shout. "Help!" he begged.

When Austin sighted him and rushed to him, leaving the front gate, he shot the four creatures on the head and helped Jamal up. "Were you bitten?" Austin asked him.

Jamal checked his body for any bites and shook his head. "Take," Austin said, handing him his rifle.

"What will you use?" Jamal shouted at him.

"Something else," Austin said, removing two daggers from his trouser pocket and attacking the creatures with his. With one swift, Austin was about to cut down a creature that was about to attack him.

Kemisola, who was without any weapon but a stick, tried to protect Tannia from the creatures. Five creatures surrounded her, but she raised her stick as a defense. They growled at her and moved closer to attack her. "Do not come any closer!" Kemisola shouted and pointed her stick at any of the creatures that tried to get close to her. One of the creatures rushed to her, and Kemisola pushed the stick into the creature's mouth. The other creatures rushed to attack, and she shielded Tannia with her body. If she dies, she will remember dying to save a little boy.

"You are not only stupid but also foolish," Austin's voice sounded as he came to her rescue and cut off all the creatures' heads. "Were you bitten latte?" He asked, and when he didn't get an answer, he grabbed her hand to look at it.

"I was not bitten," Kemisola informed him.

Austin pushed a dagger dripping with blood into her hand. "Fight with this, not with your senses." He told her,

"We need to retreat!" Justin shouted to Michael.

"We are surrounded. How do we retreat?"  Michael asked as he shot a creature on the head. "We need to fight these creatures until they are all dead!" He shot another creature on the head.

"If we don't find a way to end this, we are all going..." he screamed as he was bitten in the back by one of the creatures. The creature had snuck up on me while he was talking to Michael. Justin kicked the creature in the stomach and shot him repeatedly in the head.

"You are bitten!" Tammy pointed to Justin's back. "You are going to turn to one of them."

"I am fine!" Justin admitted it but coughed  out. "I can...." He coughed out blood.

"Justin," Michael rushed to him, but he was stopped by Austin.

"Don't move closer to him. He is transitioning. " Austin said and looked at Justin, who was trembling on the ground.

More creatures trooped in, and the soldiers tried all they could to fight them. "We need to leave this place or we all die!" Tammy shouted.

"I'll hold them off." Justin managed to say something before coughing up blood again. "Go with those who have survived. I'll finish these motherfuckers," he smiled with blood in his mouth.

"I know a way out," Jamal said to the surviving soldiers.

"Lead the way!" Austin ordered

Jamal run towards the back of the mecianda's tent. Austin and the surviving soldiers followed him. When the creatures saw this, they tried to follow them, but they were stopped by four soldiers who stood as a shield for the rest of the soldiers. "For the country!" They all screamed as they fired bullets at the creatures.

Justin, who was slowly turning into one of the creatures, pulled a grenade from his pocket. He smiled as blood filled his mouth. "For the country!" He shouted and threw the grenade where the creatures were surrounding the four soldiers. The grenade exploded, and some of the creatures that were not close to the explosion tried to run. Justin bought another tiny device from his pocket. It was like a walkie-talkie except that it wasn't one. Justin stared at the sky and thought about his life back in Canada. He thought about his wife and children. As he pressed the detonator button, he smiled for the last time as he thought of his family.

The base camp exploded with a loud noise. The soldiers who were escaping felt the explosion as most of them were thrown forward when the explosion happened. The base camp caught fire with the creatures trapped inside.
