9. Hint Box

Brian went to one of the houses, whether it was a beautiful mansion in an elite area,- or one of the units on the top floor called the penthouse. Throughout the journey, his mind was busy guessing who would be willing to spend money on poor people like himself.

"So, where are you going now?" Alessia asked. The girl sat next to Brian on the bus that would take them to one of the houses.

"I don't know. I'll check first which one I feel comfortable with," Brian answered without looking at the girl.

Their introductory handshake was like shaking hands for a servant and master contract. Brian had explained it and Alessia didn't mind because she would only follow whoever had saved the girl from disaster. If Brian didn't come, maybe his honor would be tarnished. Brian was surprised to hear Alessia's words. This tells Brian that there are still people who protect his honor, just like Brian.

Both houses can be reached by bus or taxi, the distance is only about twenty minutes. The distance from Cerry La Place to Puri Star is not far, only fifteen minutes. When he came to the city of Neophi, Brian got to know several places.

"You take the suitcase, I'll take this." Brian took the box that had been on top of his suitcase. “We're here,” he said and pressed the button next to the bus window, telling the driver that he would get off at this stop.

Brian got up from his seat carrying a box, while Alessia pulled her suitcase. They already pay as they go up, so there's no need to pay again.

They were standing at the bus stop. Brian reads a map on the wall at a waiting bus stop. Maradi Road is the main road in Neophi city which connects with other roads such as Nargi, Manola, and many more. One of them is the road to Brian's campus, Veritas Univ.

"Only twenty-five minutes to campus," Brian muttered as he read the map.

Brian was silent for a moment, thinking about where he was going. Puri Star only turns right from the bus stop, while Cerry La Place turns left which requires crossing the road. The distance is still quite far from Puri Star.

"Let's go," Brian said to Alessia, who had just been silently watching the man.

Continuing his steps towards his destination, Brian chose the closest one first. The sun was hot in the sky. That afternoon was quite hot in the Morphile rainy season. It should be summer leading up to autumn. Morphile Country has four seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

From the bus stop it turned out to be quite far. In his mind and heart, Brian still wondered who wasted his money on him, and what was their reason for doing that. Was the rich man bored with life so he decided to give life to Brian? The man was daydreaming while enjoying the walk without realizing that Alessia was starting to get tired.

"Good grief. It's tiring to walk under the hot sun,” complained Alessia behind Brian who was listening.

Brian stopped in his tracks to look for his identity card. They had arrived at the housing guard post. A man guarding the post in a black uniform stood in front of him, his body was quite sturdy and his appearance was fierce.

"Excuse me. It is forbidden to pass without resident identification or an appointment with the resident," said the guard in his deep and firm voice.

"Sorry, I have it," Brian said as he showed her the gray card. Write down the number of the house you are going to and the name of the owner.

"Oh. You were the one who was just about to move in?" The guard had now turned friendly, surprising Brian.

Brian nodded his head.

“Then go ahead. Someone who came earlier informed us of your arrival," said the guard as he stretched out his hand to make way for Brian as if he were a king who must be served well.

"Thank you," said Brian in confusion and began to take another step past the guard sign.

“If you need anything, don't hesitate to let us know here.” The guard's voice could still be heard as Brian passed by.

Brian said thank you once again while turning around and nodding slightly as a sign of respect.

The vehicle road is about six meters wide to the shoulder of the road. Brian, accompanied by Alessia, walked on the sidewalk which had a slightly rough ceramic surface so that users wouldn't slip. On either side, there are trees with leaves similar to maple trees. They look green. The tree is along the sidewalk. Not only trees, but also a large garden with various facilities for children's play, sports, and so on. The further you walk to the housing complex, the more buildings there are on the right and left. The distance from one building to another is quite far too. That's not a problem.

Brian's steps stopped after passing two house fences, in front of which were the address serial numbers. The distance is quite far from the two big houses earlier.

"Here," said Brian without any expression.

"Thank God," said Alessia while panting, and that made Brian look at her.

Maybe because Brian was too preoccupied with his thoughts, he didn't pay attention to the girl who was now covered in light sweat. For some reason, Brian smiled a little, but the smile then disappeared before Alessia realized it.

"Let's go in this way," said Brian, opening the gate using the pass.

The gate guarded the path in the garden in the front yard of house number 7-A. The door locked automatically as soon as Alessia closed it, so if you wanted to go out you had to open it with a wrench.

To the left and right of the path lined with smooth granite stones, there is manicured green grass and beautiful ornamental plants. The transparent canopy provides shade from rain and heat, it is quite safe even though it is made of glass. They arrived at a fairly spacious terrace. There is a staircase leading to the garage with a similar canopy covering it. The house has two floors and the outside looks beautiful and simple. Tall pillars support a balcony on the front terrace.

Brian opened the door with a passkey, there was also a passcode on the front of the door, and the password pin was written in the box that Brian had been carrying. The brown wooden door opened not long after. Brian went in first, letting Alessia follow behind him. As soon as he entered, the girl just left her suitcase and went to the kitchen to look for a cold drink, maybe. Along the way from the bus stop, Alessia occasionally complained, which Brian didn't pay attention to because the man was more curious about the person who gave him money and life.

There was a velvet box on the living room table. The room was quite spacious too with sofas arranged neatly. Brian knew every item in that room had fantastic value. It seems like poor people certainly won't be able to buy it, but those who do will be happy to just sell it.

Putting the box in his hand on the table, Brian took the medium-sized velvet box and opened it. Brian remembered the contents of the message sent to his cell phone earlier that he would find clues regarding who sent him the money. Does the box contain instructions?
