69: Seven Dead Bodies

As Emily spoon-fed Mr. Walter some food on the hospital bed, the television in the corner of the room broadcasted the grim news.

Dread washed over Emily as she watched the headlines flash across the screen, detailing the discovery of seven dead bodies, including that of Alexander Hargraves, a five-star general in the army, and six of his men.

Mr. Walter's eyes widened in shock as he processed the news. "Goodness gracious," he murmured, his voice filled with disbelief.

Emily's heart sank as she felt a chill run down her spine. The young man who had nearly strangled her grandfather to death, the same man who had threatened her family's safety, was now dead. The realization sent shivers down her spine.

"I can't believe it," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Who could have done such a thing?"
