"What are you trying to imply?" Eric's voice was tinged with suspicion as he faced Lucius once more.

"You shouldn't think you can use the ring for only good," Lucius replied cryptically. "To keep it intact, you need to carry out evil as well."

Eric's frown deepened, his brows furrowing in consternation. "So, you mean I should stain my hands with blood before I can keep making use of the ring?" he asked incredulously.

Lucius's response was twisted, but it still confirmed Eric's worst fears. "In a manner of speaking," he replied, his tone enigmatic.

"I haven't killed anyone before, and I'm not planning to do so," Eric asserted firmly.

Lucius regarded him with a knowing gaze. "But you have killed," he stated matter-of-factly. "Seven men, in fact."

Eric's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you referring to Alexander and his men? I didn't kill anyone," he protested.
