7. They Werent Bad People

“Twelve, thirteen, fourteen. What? Is that all you have in your pocket? Just fourteen coins?”

Slap!

Nash, who was now sitting on top of those unconscious thugs, slapped their faces using empty wallet bag that Nash had taken from them. If someone saw them right now, Nash looked more like a real thug than the one that fainted beneath him.

This might not be stated in detail because Nash was just a mere NPC with less exposure in Heaven of Terraria, but the real thing is—Nash was a total menace in his village.

Of course he was an orphan, but it did not mean he would just stay quiet like a coward if another kid said something mean about his dead parents or Chisato.

Nash beat all of them with his strength, and when he entered his adolescence era, no one in the village or neighbour village dared to insult him. That explained why Nash was an expert being a lumberjack, his arm strength was not a joke.

“T-that’s all we have.”

“Ughh, uhhhh—please let us go.” They groaned in pain with all the bruises covering their face. Nash must have beaten them hard until it leaves a big trauma for them.

Alas, Nash had zero intention of letting them go without drying them out. He peeked at the jewelry box that was being hugged tightly by one of them. That man would never let it go even though Nash had beaten him until his face became barely recognized.

“Let me see it quick,” said Nash while snatching the box when that thug was off-guarded.

“No! Not the box!”

He ignored that voice and opened it quickly, but what was inside made him frown in confusion. He closed it again and looked at the wooden box with all the lavish gold ornaments.

It was indeed a jewelry box.

But, Nash opened it again and became confused.

The content inside it was not jewelry or gold. It was a piece of photograph.

A family photograph.

Without waiting any longer, he closed it quickly and returned it to the original owner.

“Sorry,” apologized him while jumping forward and leaving them free.

“Are you guys not a thief?” Nash asked while scratching the back of his neck.

“No!”

“We would never do something treacherous like that!” They defended with loud voices before groaning again in pain because their body ached so much.

“So why you acted like thugs and even lie to me?”

They glanced at each other before one of them, who had a gentler expression, answered, “T-that’s because lately there is much chaos happening everywhere, and our home has also been destroyed by monsters that went wild. We need to act like a thug to survive …, sorry.”

Nash found it awkward that he suspected them as a robber at first, but it turned out that he was the one who robbed them.

“Haaaaaah—you make me like I’m a bad person. Here, your money.” Nash gave back the bag and returned all the fourteen coins inside.

“Thank you! Thank you so much!” They stood up quickly and cried in happiness, which made Nash feel more guilty.

He waved his hand quickly, “No, I’m the one that needs to apologize. By the way, do you know the nearest village or town to this forest? Or maybe you know about Camden village?”

The gentler one answered, “Camden village? Wait, are you an adventurer?”

“Well, you could say like that. Do you know where it is? I need to go there quickly.”

“Quickly? Haha! That’s the funniest joke I’ve ever heard this year, Klen.”

Nash frowned, “What do you mean?”

“Glen’s right, if you want to go to that village, you need about six months' walk from here. It’s placed far on the southern kingdom Iskandarien, while we’re on the northest Kingdom of Terraria, Torrenfield.” Klen explained in detail while Glen nodded in agreement.

“What?” Nash tried to process the shocking information while still acting calm, even though he wanted to punch that fucking shadow that teleported him here. He thought he teleported quite far from his village, but the northest kingdom? That meant that Nash needed to cross almost five kingdoms to get to Chisato and Gressida’s place!

That was fucking insane!

(Stay calm, Nash. Stay calm.)

He clenched his fists in anger. Nash could imagine the shadow currently giggling in happiness because he saw him suffering like this. “I promise I’ll blow a hard punch to that thing later, a very hard punch.”

However, Klen and Glen, who saw Nash’s menace expression, became afraid and hugged each other. “P-please don’t kill us. We just want to live peacefully.”

Nash realized that both of them were still there and released his anger. “No, no, it’s not for you. Thank you for your help. You may go now.”

“Really?” Klen asked.

“Yes,” answered Nash with a smile.

“Reaaaaaaaally?” This time, Glen asked.

“Yup.”

“Really, really, really, really—”

Nash rolled his eyes with an annoyed expression. “Asked that again and I’ll punch your butt.”

“Well, goodbye!”

“Let’s not meet again!”

Scared, Klen and Glen dashed at full speed. But, before they went too far, Klen turned his body and shouted something, “Once again, thank you! And please be careful with Hunters! They had strange magic and sometimes hurt people! If you meet one of them, run and save your life!”

Nash nodded. “Thank you, Klen.”

Klen smiled gently and turned his back again before walking away with Glen, leaving Nash alone.

When those two had left, only the rustling sound of falling leaves accompanied Nash there. He took a deep breath before releasing it slowly. Now he was all alone and no one nearby.

“System, open the status window.”

“Hmmm, that’s not bad. But still, it isn’t enough to compare with other players.” He paid attention to his two new skills that he got after beating Klen and Glen. Even though it was wrong for him to get that cool-named skills after punching them, Nash wanted to try it.

Nash formed a fist with one hand and took steps to punch.

“Blow punch.”

WHOOOSH—!

A strong wind blew from his punch, making the bushes sway violently as a storm had struck them.

(What the hell? It’s just a punch! A fuckin level 1 punch!)

Now Nash was even scared with his own strength, what would happen if he raised his punch level? Could he crush a mountain with a single blow? That was so terrifying, even just to imagine.

He wanted to try the Blow Kick when suddenly his stomach growled from hunger. Nash forgot that he was not even finished his last dinner when the monsters came to attack, so it was natural for him to feel hungry. He needed to find food quickly.

“Klen said this forest is near a place named Torrenfield. Well, I think I’ll find food and shelter there for tonight.” With his remaining strength, Nash walked in the direction where Klen and Glen were first coming. It was getting darker, and Nash’s hunger was also getting worse.

“I think I miss Grandma’s warm bread taste, even Chi’s annoying rattle makes me miss them more, haha.” He looked up and saw the orange-reddish sky that was getting dark and darker every second with a sad face.

“I hope they’re doing okay …."
