Chapter 35

The fire and fight visibly drained out of Margaret and she sagged on the floor, laying the hammer down and raising her hands in surrender. The guards got to her and grabbed her by the arm, hurling her up from the floor and steadying her.

It was right then that the waterworks began. Margaret began to cry fiercely, asking for Alexander's forgiveness. "Please, you said we could sorry this out, you said you'd wave it away like it never happened. I know that you're the young master, please help me!" She begged, sobbing and struggling against the guard's grasp.

Alexander looked at her, he couldn't believe how easily it had all gone south. His office was a mess, he'd just accused the secretary wrongly and now he was going to have to send someone to jail and he wasn't even a month old in the company yet. "You brought this on yourself, Margaret, you have to take responsibility for it," he replied plainly.
