Adriana slammed her hands on the table in front of her father, Marcus, as she ranted in frustration.

She declared, with conviction, that she would not marry Nicholas, the son-in-law whom she considered to be nothing but trash.

She was absolutely livid and didn't hold back her feelings.

Meanwhile, Nicholas stood in Marcus's office, silently observing Adriana with great interest.

He studied her every move, taking in every nuance of her anger.

Marcus, noticing Nicholas's interest, showed Adriana the letter from Lord Niklaus.
