Chapter 4: Mother

Everyone at the scene was completely shocked by what just happened.

A man with glowing purple eyes had just shown up out of nowhere and pushed their car 'gently' with his leg, in the process killing eight men including the black-suited leader gruesomely.

Also claiming to be some god or something. Teddy and the rest of the armed men were completely flabbergasted. But seriously, no one would react to a man pushing a car out like it was a weightless skateboard normally.

"Hmm, I've already suppressed my strength so much. Everything just feels like cardboard these days," Jurdelious muttered to himself.

If other people heard him, the level of their shock would have increased. How much of his strength was he suppressing and how strong was he exactly?

Teddy and the rest of the men stood rooted to the spot, "what! Wait... what just happened?" he said as his mind tried to explain what he had just seen.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Jurdelious's voice woke him from his stupor. "Normally, I would take part in the carnage you cause, but this time... " He looked at the men with an uncaring but also menacing smile,"... Let's just say you were born way too early. No war can happen in this particular country, at least not yet. "

When Teddy heard the last part, he immediately discarded all thoughts. As a former military personnel turned mercenary then now a rebel, he was very familiar with resistant forces.

An enemy was in front of him, one that wanted to actively foil their plans. There was only one ending for this kind of person.

"Waste em." the men didn't need to be told twice. The suited men brought out handguns while the armored men aimed their rifles at Jurdelious.

*RATATATATATATA.....*

The sounds of guns being fired filled the night air but they were doomed to be disappointed.

Jurdelious watched calmly as the bullets rained on him and then bounced off his skin, he just remained in the same position, even his clothes remained undamaged.

His expression did not change but the glow in his eyes increased in intensity.

*sigh*

With arms behind his back, Jurdelious's feet left the ground. He floated upwards with small pieces of stone following along until he was three meters off the ground. He gave off an oppressive feeling as he stood midair staring down at them like the embodiment of divine punishment.

The men down below were now filled with true terror. This man kicked a car with such force that it broke through a concrete wall, he stood there tanking bullets like it was just a breeze, and now he's flying like those comic characters. It was kinda cool, but the way he was looking at them like they were dead meat was what scared them.

*ZTZTZTZ..*

Two purple beams of energy burst out of Jurdelious's eyes with explosive force. Before anybody could react, four of the armed terrorist men were turned to ash.

*silence*

Teddy was stunned, what was going on this night? But he wasn't the leader of this terrorist group for nothing, In an instant, he made a risky decision.

"Fire!" he shouted. In this weird scenario, only their firearms could give them a sense of confidence even though they could clearly see that it was not effective. Another rain of bullets once again hit Jurdelious.

Using the opportunity, probably hoping that this self-proclaimed god was distracted, he opened one of the crates in front of him which revealed to contain a rocket launcher. Loading the rocket in, he aimed like a professional and launched, all of this happening in less than five seconds.

*FWOOSH!!* The rocket flew out leaving a fiery smoky trail behind it.

As the rocket got close to Jurdelious, to him, time seemed to slow down in his perspective.

When the rocket was in front of him, it just stopped mid-air. The rocket wasn't the only thing that stopped though.

Now feeling a bit relaxed, he stretched out his hand to grab. It wasn't that time slowed down, it's just that Jurdelious was way too fast.

He aimed the rocket downwards right in the middle of the shocked and frozen men.

*BOOM*

Teddy, thinking that his diversion worked started to rush to a car when he finally heard the sound of an explosion. Not bothering to check on his men because of the lingering fear that had sprung up inside of him. He immediately got into the car and drove off.

*ZTZTZTZ...*

The zapping sound that mixed with the cries of his men allowed him to guess their fate. But he didn't look back, gritting his teeth he sped away.

...

Jurdelious looked at the piles of ash and dead bodies on the ground then glanced at the speeding car that was moving further and further away.

"Giving him a false hope? well, I tried it and I won't lie, it's kinda interesting" As he said so, he levitated towards the old white truck on the ground.

Placing his right hand at the side, he gripped the edge of the truck. His fingers pierced into the metal body like it was paper causing a cranking sound to echo out.

He flexed his arm, raising the truck up, the way one would raise a pillow, and like a frisbee, he threw it towards the moving car in the distance.

...

Teddy had already noticed a large object moving towards him through the side mirror. He wasn't going to escape this, he just knew it "Is this how I die? I don't even understand what is happening..."

He calmly closed his eyes and let whatever was coming to come.

...

Jurdelious watched as an explosion went off in the distance. "That seemed a bit overkill, oh well."

None of the men present that night knew the cause of true their deaths

*A Few weeks later*

Al'ravee and his 'Cousin', Ris, could be seen sitting in a black car with the latter in the driver's seat.

" You've been quite jumpy these days you know that.". Ris said as he kept his eyes on the road.

Al'ravee rolled his eyes inwardly. Of All people to come to pick him up from school, it just had to be his cousin. The one who he hadn't even met the uncle or aunty responsible for bringing him into the world.

According to them, he was from his father's side. His father looked threatening even when asleep with his buff appearance while this cousin of his looked like he had been an athlete for a long time. 'Is it in the genes? Was I adopted?'

Compared to the two, he looked average.

"Honestly I don't know, maybe I need to go to some mental hospital or something" He spoke out jokingly.

Ris looked at him as if whatever was in front of the still-moving car had no meaning. Al'ravee didn't notice though, his head was kept down as he busied himself with his phone."Do you know why?" Said Ris.

Al'ravee remained silent for a moment. 'Please don't say hormones or puberty.'

"Hehe, hormones? I doubt that." Ris said him.

Al'ravee finally raised. "Yh, If you call having a verbal challenge with my teacher hormones, then you must not be from this planet," Ravee said unceremoniously.

Before Ris could interject though, Ravee continued talking. "Starring at my teacher as he talked... It just put me off..... I was genuinely irritated by just looking at him. I felt a need, an urge...to completely shut him up..... no, it's kinda hard to explain. It was just too strong, it felt like I was going insane.... like I was right to do what I did..... "

"Hmm, your emotions are already this intense huh?" Ris muttered to himself. "And you decided that the best way to handle whatever that was, was to start a verbal assault, Kinda sounds like the outburst of an overly emotional teenager. And you earned yourself suspension".

Al'ravee remained silent. Ris looked back in front of him before finally smiling.

"You know... Your father once had the same problem". Ris said. "It's not like I was there. My 'father' told me."

Al'ravee looked at him with one eyebrow raised in a questioning gaze, something he had learned from his mother. " So this is actually not my fault, I actually inherited it, wait so this runs in the family? Here I was thinking I was adopted."

*cough*

Ris didn't answer him. "Your father had what you may call an unhealthy urge to break something in his early years. He could hardly hold something in his hand without testing if he could crush it.

Filled with youthful vigor, he would see a building and the first thing that would come to his mind was how to bring it down."

"Isn't that a bad thing?" Ravee said.

Ris paused as he recalled something and smiled, before continuing. " He was a criminal back then so yeah. Eventually, he took advice from one of the few people he respected and started meditation. It helped him to able to go on for years, but whenever he finally let loose... it wasn't even funny."

Al'ravee tried to understand what he said. His father was a criminal?

"Wait, so this is genetics or something, so my dad also had it, so I'm some kind of special guy huh, so all I need is some kind of meditation," Al'ravee said with a smirk.

"Not really, yes, I don't know, and probably the last one depends. It worked for your dad." Ris said while shrugging his shoulders.

In Al'ravee's mind, his father probably used to be some kind of overachieving small-time criminal so he didn't put too much thought into it.

"Hmm, you said that he finally let loose sometimes, but I've known him my whole life and he was even in a bad mood when he accidentally spoilt the remote. He doesn't seem like the destructive type." Al'ravee said with one of those bored are-you-joking-with-me looks.

Ris just laughed. "Of course, the meditation isn't the only thing holding him down."

"Oh really, what could possibly stop him," Al'ravee said in a mocking tone, not entirely believing what Ris was saying. Have you seen that guy? Seriously.

Ris smiled and replied. "Your mother."
