Chapter 45: Travel Time

Al'ravee was impressed. 'They probably gave him a different set of training since he was supposed to be the leader. Ai, such a bother' This only made Al'ravee more determined to break him.

"As you wish" Al'ravee dashed towards Al'ravee.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!"

Minutes later, the only thing heard was Darius' cry of agony.

[Twenty-eight days later]

Al'ravee was outside the skyscraper and he stared down at the shaking Darius who knelt before him in ragged clothing.

Darius was completely broken.

Al'ravee had tortured him and let him experience the pain of his body being continuously electrocuted. Everything was electrocuted... everything.

Darius had surrendered long ago, he was just a human, and there was naturally a limit to his endurance. But Al'ravee had to make it clear that he didn't encourage any mutiny or betrayal. He had to make sure that Darius would remember him as his master…forever.

In short, he had enslaved Darius by sowing fear into him.

On the bright side, for Al'ravee that is, he had been able to acquire two concepts. The torture quickly turned into an experiment with Al'ravee infusing his electricity into Darius' body for different effects

The result was that Al'ravee now had control over the concept of healing. With this, Al'ravee went wild, using intense inhuman shock therapy and then healing his body.

This concept wasn't completely useless to Al'ravee personally as he could now reduce the cost of regrowing limbs, he thought. 'This would mostly be useful on subordinates and future followers'.

Al'ravee had taken note of Ozias' ability to notice anything, he even knew that Al'ravee had a new concept. This was a mystery that Al'ravee knew was going to find out eventually… or he could just ask.

That aside, Al'ravee had also conducted another necessary experiment. He managed to forcefully cause Darius to level up from a level 7 to a level 10 mortal, with a type of mortal that relied on the strength of its body, a weak one though.

This was of course a result of the concept of Talent. But this concept was the most useless to Al'ravee right now because aside from pushing Darius to level 10, it also gave him the universal knowledge on all the types of talents a mortal could have, that was how he knew which talent Darius had gained aftet checking.

This process had not been so simple, a similar scientific term would be genetic modification. The right term would be Soul modification or evolution.

It was farr from simple.

Al'ravee saw first-hand how a soul reacts when in contact with the energy manifested from the concept of energy. The process was fascinating at best to him. He just had to follow his mother's guidelines.

If not for the guide, he wouldn't be able to acquire these concepts so easily.

Darius could feel his body trying to change and adapt to whatever Al’ravee had done to him. He could feel how strong his bones and muscles were getting. But he still felt weak compared to the god before him.

Al'ravee took out the small box that Ozia had given him. All this time, through the fights and heavy blows he received, the box remained intact in his pocket.

*HUMMM*

The cube emitted a humming sound and seconds later, the sound of something breaking the sound barrier of the planet was heard.

A torpedo-shaped metal shuttle with a length and size similar to that of a lorry came down to hover a few centimeters above the ground.

The shuttle had eight turbo thrusters, one on one of the eight sides.

"This had probably been in your ship all this while, hadn't it?" He asked telepathically, Al'ravee was curious, this god of machinery kept on attracting him to the marvels of his handwork.

"Affirmative" Ozia decided to explain "I've been working on god tier machinate with warp speed-related technology for easier interstellar travel and this is one of my prototypes."

Al'ravee nodded, not wanting to get into detail about it here. "So how long would it take to reach there?"

Ozia "Approximately ninety years."

Al'ravee "...", 'Bruh!'

"He's going to arrive at his destination in ninety years?" Al'ravee asked again to confirm, hoping that Ozia was miscalculating.

"Yes, but to him, only a couple of months would have passed. I added a pile of canned food for humans there. It should last him if he manages it well." The tone the messages came with implied that Ozia wasn't bothered about answering Al'ravee's questions.

"What?"

"Don't worry, you'll understand when you experience it."

"And how long would we take to reach there with your ship?"

"Open it," Al'ravee ordered Darius, if the journey was going to take so long then he better start now.

"My ship is completely capable of warp speed as I got it from a world god-level civilization event.

We would have to make some stops on the way. A couple of dwarf planets happen to hold some raw materials that I need for my projects.

The gods in this galaxy are too powerful to bother stopping us as long as we are just passing by.

I've calculated correctly so that we would face minimum obstacles after entering the other galaxy..."

As Al'ravee watched Darius timidly try to find a way to open the shuttle, his face betrayed the feeling of trepidation he was starting to feel from Ozia's words.

As gods, their perception of time didn't change as most would imagine. A day was still a day, and a year was still a year. Even if they lived for a very long time, it won't change.

The last five hundred and fifty years waiting for his ascension had him occupied with his wish fulfillment, but now...

"...It would take us approximately one hundred years to arrive at our destination. If I had access to Warp Gate technology, we would be able to shorten the journey by a great deal. Alas."

'Bruh!!!' Al'ravee was suddenly overcome with the reluctance to go anywhere.

Finally, the top of the shuttle opened up, much to Darius's relief.

Ozia seemed to sense Al'ravee's mood "If we used sub-light speed instead, it would take us about three million years. Not to worry Al'ravee, my ship has an artificial time warp engine so it's only going look like a year or so "

"A year or so?" 'I need to sit down'. Al'ravee was really feeling lazy right now. Although one year compared to how old he was was really insignificant, it was still one year.

"That's just how warp-speed travel is. Besides, you need the time to prepare yourself for when you meet other gods like you.

If you don't plan and increase your power, they will eat you up and spit you out in the most humiliating way. You're still a new god you know."

Al'ravee moaned. Planet Green Cloud was already planned for so he couldn't stay here unless he had the strength to challenge what his parents thought was right for him.

"Darius, this contraption 'of mine' will take you to your destination. A new world where I plan to build a new civilization so prepare your mind."

At first, Darius was anxious about the journey but when he heard the last part of the sentence, his eyes opened wide in shock.

But he didn't dare refuse the mission, just the thought of denial made him almost feel pain run through his body.

"Your will is my purpose lord Ravee" Darius hesitated before speaking "Pardon my inquisitive self".

"Speak" Al'ravee was liking this new submissive Darius.

"Pray tell what I'm supposed to do once I get there?" Darius was very careful with his words. He had to ask as it was in his nature to have a plan before undergoing any mission.

"Hmm" Al'ravee hadn't thought of that before. It was good that Darius brought it up, if not he might have been dissatisfied with whatever he saw later.

Just when Darius was wondering what was going through his ‘master's’ head, he received a significant amount of information.

This information contained the standard of the faction he was supposed to establish, how to set it up, some psychological manipulation tips, martial arts, and some rules concerning his name.

Al'ravee had naturally noticed that he was particularly sensitive to someone calling his name.

Finally, Al'ravee spoke up, "Let all those who become my followers know of the promise of a reward. A reward that I shall give personally as long as they have faith. Yeah, use that. And if they don't have faith, I'll punish them. Yes, that sounds right." His tone was filled with nonchalance.

"Thank you for your divine wisdom, my lord." Darius did not miss the chance to try to assure him, even though he was scared. He was shocked about the message in his head but kept quiet about it.

All this time, he refrained from looking Al'ravee directly in the eyes, his head remained bowed.

Al'ravee made another mental note to study some concepts later on.

"Now go, this journey shall take you far, do well to preserve what you have," Al'ravee commanded.

Darius got into the space shuttle, watching it automatically close up and levitate into the air.

"Can he still see me Sir Ozia?" Al'ravee made sure to be respectful as he was about to ask for a favor.

"Yes, he can," Ozia, just as ever, wasn't tired of answering Al'ravee.

"Okay, please can you slow down the craft? I'd like for him to see something."

"Hmm." The space shuttle slowed its ascension once it was above the city. This allowed Darius to be able to look through the glass panel to see nearly the whole city.

Then, he saw Al'ravee float into the sky, suspended by nothing. Al'ravee made sure that he was facing Darius and Darius also gazed at him.

Al'ravee opened his mouth. Darius couldn't hear anything from inside the small shuttle but he could read Al'ravees' lips.

"Rise."
