Val immediately picked up another iron platter. Regardless of the technology the bullet possessed, she could deflect it if it was made of metal. It was basic science coupled with years of training.

When Damien pressed the trigger, there was no blast, only a red spark. The bullet left the gun with a zippy noise. Val recognized its trajectory and held the platter at an angle to redirect it.

However, her efforts were all in vain. As soon as the bullet touched the iron platter, the latter vibrated and crumbled into dust. The shot proceeded and grazed against Val's sleeve, which, in turn, withered away!

Val's eyes opened wide in shock. The nano-tech gun could turn everything it touched to dust! Moreover, she observed that the bullet swerved in its path. That would make it even more challenging to dodge. If it made contact with her skin, her entire body would crumble!
