Chapter 107

Athena got back into the house, and then she recalled that he said something about leaving her stuff in the house. Her mother was sitting on the couch, stamping her feet on the ground, when she got into the living room.

"Good riddance," Veronica said, and she got up to continue her work in the kitchen. Athena didn't bother to look at her; she was focused on checking out what Maxwell had left for her. She rushed up the stairs and pushed on his door. Her eyes broadened in shock. Maxwell had carefully laid everything she got him on the bed without picking a pin. She doesn't know what he means by this.

"Does this mean he wasn't ever going to come back into my life?" She questioned herself. Then she looked at the ring in her hand. Tears flowed down her cheeks. She climbed up the bed and pulled the clothes to her chest, sniffing them a bit.

She began to cry until she fell asleep.
