Chapter 109

Maxwell was sitting with Mirabella at home after the close of work. Grandpa had just left them to have some rest upstairs, as usual. The duo were busy on the field with their little cousin picking on the mat when Maxwell's phone began to buzz.

“I will beat you off this chess game, Mirabella gave Maxwell a promise.

You can't. I am good when it comes to chess, and I plan on going to international competitions with it. My phone…” Maxwell replied, searching for his phone, where he threw it. He was so busy that he didn't notice the phone had fallen off the mat and was now resting on the grass underneath the mat. He pulled it out and checked on the caller.

“Why is Vickie calling me again? I thought I made it clear the last time,” he murmured. Mirabella winked at him, and he began to blush.

“Please hold on." He said it with a finger pointed out. He swiped the phone and placed it on his ear.

“Yes, what do you want?”.

“I'm dying, Maxwell. Please come to Huggies Cafe; I don't know what I ate.
