Chapter 66

Athena had just received bad news from her PA, Maggie. She paced the room back and forth, confused about what to do.

Over the phone, Maggie revealed to her that some of the competent staff that she hired a few months ago have been laid off.

“What the hell is wrong with these people?” she screamed, holding her head. Her shoulders drooped, and her eyes almost popped out of their sockets. She brushed her hair backwards and picked up her phone to dial Maxwell’s number.

At least with his help and being around her, she could find solace in his words, even though they do not make much sense to her. Just as she was about to dial his number, a knock came on the door and then a chime from the doorbell.

She slipped her feet into her slippers and hurried down to get the door since Matilda was busy making dinner for the house.
