The moon hung low in the crisp, star-studded sky as a biting wind whispered through skeletal branches. Frost adorned every surface, turning the world into a glistening, silver dreamscape. The air was so still that each breath hung in the thick darkness, visible in fragile clouds.

Maxwell's thuds echoed into the darkness beyond. The streetlights lined the center slab of the lonely motorway, casting long, warp shadows on the hard ground, and the only sounds were the distant hoots of an owl and the crunch of footsteps on the icy pavement.

Maxwell walked home alone in the dimly lit night, the echo of his footsteps mingling with the distant city sounds.
