Family Gathering

Sammy, who had been enjoying every puff of his cigarette, stopped abruptly upon receiving a phone call.

"What's wrong?" Sammy asked in a quick monotonous tone.

"I'm sorry Mr. Sammy, someone beat my son home. Can you help us find out who did it, because we've been trying to find out, but there's no clue?"

Sammy fell silent upon hearing the explanation from his friend's father, who was smoking his cigarette at a leisurely pace.

"I'm sorry, what?" urged the person, calling Sammy.

"I won't let anyone dare to disturb my people," Sammy replied flatly. Sammy was currently thinking about which fool was trying to bully him.

"Thank you, sir."

"Tell Harry to meet me tomorrow." Sammy immediately turned off his cell phone. The man now looked at his men, who were still laughing without knowing the true state of their friend.

A man asked Sammy, "What's wrong, Mr. Sammy?" This made the other boys pause as they noticed that Sammy's face appeared flat. Sammy had even discarded the cigarette butt he had been smoking.

"Where did Harry go?" Instead of answering, Sammy asked the same question as before.

"Sorry, Mr. Sammy, but Harry probably came home after playing with that bastard, Sean." The man replied while swallowing hard because Sammy's face was so scary.

"You're sure," Sammy replied in an even creepier tone.

"Yes, sir," the other boy answered nervously.

"Harry's parents just called me and said that Harry just came home with an injury, so what kind of asshole could do that?" Sammy looked at his friends individually, making everyone even more nervous.

"But I'm pretty sure Harry said he was going to go after Sean and there's no way that stupid man would dare to do that." Jack replied with an angry face.

Jack perceived Sean as weak since Sean was hesitant to bully other boys due to the possibility of being expelled from their university.

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and find out what's going on!" Sean's scream made everyone jump from their seats. Some chose to go straight out, while the others stayed with Sammy.

Jack took the laptop from his bag and immediately turned it on to find out what had happened.

"Mr. Sammy, all security cameras from the hotel gate to the road that Harry suspected have disappeared. There's only this security camera. Look at the man helping Treasure; Harry seems to be saying something to him." Jack immediately hacked into all the security cameras he needed. Unfortunately, he was late because other hackers were already ahead of him.

Sammy raised one eyebrow and asked, "Usually, aren't you able to hack ordinary CCTV like this?" He didn't want a subordinate who was of no use.

"If my opponent is an ordinary sneaker, maybe I can, sir. Master Sami can see this." Jack showed a blurry CCTV with the word LOSER written on it.

"Damn it!" cursed Sammy. Now Sammy realized his opponent was no ordinary person, it seemed.

"He wants to mess with me? Alright," Sammy smiled wryly. The man looked at Jack's laptop with a look that no one could read.

"You have to find out the smallest details and come early tomorrow morning!" After saying that, Sammy left the gang's base camp. The man slowly puffed on the cigarette butt in his hand while looking up at the night sky.

"Sean, is that you? I didn't think a stupid guy like you could make me so excited to play," Sammy thought thoughtfully. Sami nearly throws a cigarette butt, remembering what Sean did at Karen's birthday party.

Sean had to wake up because his cell phone rang, even though he was fast asleep.

"Why Dad again? Didn't you have enough time to disturb my life last night?"

"I don't want to distract you, but today at 8 am your grandfather asked us to assemble without exception." Sean, hearing his father's explanation, could only sigh heavily.

Sean asked irritatedly, "What more does the elderly man desire? Has he not grown weary of disrupting the lives of others?" Family gatherings were unbearable to him, particularly impromptu ones like this.

"I also didn't want to come, but the old man threatened me with something you should know about. So prepare yourself, as Roberto will be coming to pick you up soon."

"Well, whatever." Sean responded and then turned off the phone directly."

Sean cursed his father's confidant Roberto, saying, "Ah, why Roberto? That man is just as annoying as Thomas!" Sean disliked Roberto. After all, he would sometimes give him a pitying look, which Sean detested because he didn't want to be pitied as a weak man.

"It doesn't matter. I have to get ready." Shawn got up from his bed. Shun didn't care how his grandfather told the school his permission because it wasn't the first time he had to skip school like this.

Shortly after Sean prepared himself, Roberto arrived, and Sean promptly entered the black limousine that had just arrived to collect him.

"Please eat that breakfast because we don't have time to stop on the road for breakfast," Roberto said nonchalantly while pointing at the food he had prepared.

"At least you're useful in times like this Roberto. Oh yeah, where are we going? Shall we go to that village again? Is this town too small for the old man, so we have to enter that wilderness?" Sean asked angrily. If the meeting was held in the city, then, well, there was no need to get ready early in the morning like today.

"I don't know the young master, but Lord Albern wants all his potential successors to gather today, as there are important matters to discuss," Roberto replied, looking down the street. Roberto wasn't the driver, but he had to be aware of his surroundings; Sean's safety was his responsibility, and he also had a firearm that he needed if an enemy tried to attack them.

"Let's not talk about it. You're just sick." Sean ate the available bread. Sean also enjoyed the coffee that Roberto made for him.

Sean's journey was very quiet because he did not want to engage in conversation with people he found annoying, and he eventually reached his destination.

"Welcome, Young Master Sean," All the bodyguards lined up to welcome the Albern extended family one by one, including Shun.

Sean thought, "During moments like these, I am appreciated," as he glared with revenge towards the individual responsible for his current situation.

Herman, Mr. Albern's right hand, announced, "Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen. Mr. Albern requests that you all proceed to the dining room." Everyone present comprehended the message and promptly headed toward the designated room.

Upon entering the room, Albern was already standing at the end of the long dining table. He gazed ahead with a nonchalant expression, showing no concern for the sudden arrival of his family whom he had summoned.

Thomas sat opposite his mother, Claudia, because he was the eldest child. Alvina, his wife, sat next to him, and Sean sat beside Alvina. Everyone else sat based on their age.

Ivy sat next to Claudia as the youngest child, and Kurt, the second child of Albert and Claudia, sat next to Sean. After this, everyone took their assigned seats, and additional families filled the dining table.

After her husband took the bread served on his plate and the others began their meal in silence, Claudia kindly said, "Please enjoy." The table was graced with silence.

"How's your daughter Ivy?" Albern began the conversation after breakfast was over.

"Kimber and Maida are still top of their class, Maida just won a piano contest yesterday." Ivy proudly shared how her two daughters were progressing.

"Yes, Grandpa, Maida won the competition yesterday, and Nora also won the ballet competition." Maida said happily, and Maida also mentioned Nora because Nora was her cousin.

"Wow, grandma's grandson is so talented," Claudia praised.

Sean asked himself, "Tsk, what kind of drama is this?" However, he opted to remain quiet as he did not wish to participate in the facade of a united family.

"Grandpa will give you a present later, but will you come out first? We are also Kimber," Albern said to all his granddaughters. Albern only believed that men had the right to lead.

Kimber firmly declined, "Grandpa, I am now 17 years old and believe I have earned the right to remain here." Kimber knew her mother had been banished due to her gender and was determined not to suffer the same fate.

"Ivy," Claudia reminded her daughter.

"Is it Kimber's fault, Mom?" This time, Ivy tried to fight back.

"Did you send us back just to show us how your family fights?" said Sean in a cold tone. Sean was fed up with all the endless drama.

"Sean!" Thomas looked at his son sharply. Thomas didn't want his stupid son to ruin the project he'd worked so hard to build.

"Never mind, I'll tolerate you, Kimber, and you two go out this time." Nola and Meida came to their senses; both exited the dining table immediately. Of course, both of them knew that their grandfather would not be on their side at a time like this.

Kurt dared to ask his dad, "What's up?" because he was relieved that his children were not in trouble that morning. He was happy that his daughters had the composure to win their grandfather's favor. Kurt smiled at the situation.

"I want your children to compete against each other in your stead, not that I don't trust your current leadership, but I don't want stupid grandchildren destroying everything I've built!" Albern immediately spoke frankly while looking at Sean and Kent sharply.

"Kent is ready for Grandpa and Kent will prove to Grandpa that Kent is fully capable of all that." Son Kent spoke confidently as he looked at Sean.

"And you, Sean? This time I don't want to receive any rejection from you, and you should also marry my best friend's grandson!"

Sean was shocked when he was struck by lightning in broad daylight. Despite his grandfather's attempts to manage his life, Sean tried to control his anger.
