Chapter 50 - A Savior

Riko snorted harshly. "At first, I didn't believe that your mother kidnapped me and killed Captain Calvin to obtain the divine cube. However, after I saw her transform into a snake demon, I believed all of Morwen's accusations." He expressed his feelings reluctantly.

Edward was wide-eyed in disbelief. "You can't lie to me! There's no way my mother would commit such a heinous act! Let alone kill another person!"

Riko looked down without answering anything. He understood Edward's attitude. As his son, he could not possibly consider Elizabeth evil.

"But the truth is like that."

Edward shook his head quickly. "That's impossible." He repeatedly dismissed Riko's explanation. Suddenly his chest was tight with disappointment and hurt.

In Edward's eyes, Elizabeth was the perfect mother for being so loving and gentle. There was no way she could have killed someone else. However, seeing that she was the same as Arthur and Morwen broke his resolve. He could not deny any of it.
