CHAPTER 40

Jason, at that moment, remembered he saw some cars parked inside the Malachi residence.

Without thinking twice, he knew he would have to go get one of those cars and used it to drive Derek to the hospital.

Immediately he faced Derek.

“Derek, hold on, I'm coming. I want to go get a car to get you to the hospital. Please hold on.”

Jason's voice was filled with assurance; he doesn't want Derek to feel like he's going to die if he doesn't get to the hospital quickly.

However, Derek held Jason's hands before he could stand up.

“I'm scared. Please don't go. I'm scared. What if they come back for me, and you're not here?”

Jason couldn't help but force a smile.

“Don't worry about that, I'm sure they wouldn't dare come back again.”

He held Derek so tightly.

“Hold on, I need to get you to the hospital now; please hold on while I go get a car.”

Derek managed to nod; however, he was weak, and he could feel his strength fading away.
